The stage of proclaiming the call to the people of Mecca from the beginning of the fourth year of prophecy to the end of the tenth year.
The stage of Da’wah outside Mecca, which is from the end of the tenth year of prophecy to his migration (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to Medina.
مرحلة الدعوة السرية ، ثلاث سنوات.
مرحلة إعلان الدعوة في أهل مكة من بداية السنة الرابعة من النبوة إلى آخر السنة العاشرة.
مرحلة الدعوة خارج مكة ، وهي من أواخر السنة العاشرة من النبوة إلى هجرته صلى الله عليه وسلم إلى المدينة.
1. The Secret Stage (Ad-Da'wah As-Sirriyyah) | المرحلة السرية: ثلاث سنوات من البناء التربوي الخاص
For three initial years, the Prophet called individuals discreetly, focusing on close relatives and trusted friends to establish a core vanguard of believers. They gathered privately in Dar al-Arqam to recite Quran and study the faith without alerting hostile polytheists.
يَا أَيُّهَا الْمُدَّثِّرُ قُمْ فَأَنذِرْ (سورة المدثر: 1-2)
استمرت المرحلة السرية ثلاث سنوات حرص فيها النبي ﷺ على الحيطة والحكمة؛ فكان يدعو أخص الناس به وأصدقاءه الصادقين، واختار دار الأرقم بن أبي الأرقم مقراً سرياً لتعليم القرآن وتربية السابقين الأولين.
2. Proclaiming to Close Kin: Mount Safa | مرحلة إنذار العشيرة والجهر بالحق في مكة
When Allah revealed: "And warn your closest relatives," the Prophet summoned his kin to Mount Safa, openly inviting them to Islam. Shortly after, Surah Al-Hijr commanded him: "Proclaim that which you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists," launching open public preaching in Mecca.
وَأَنذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ الْأَقْرَبِينَ (سورة الشعراء: 214)
نزل الأمر الإلهي بإنذار الأقربين: {وَأَنذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ الْأَقْرَبِينَ}، فصعد الصفا ونادى بطون قريش معلناً رسالته، ثم نزل قوله تعالى: {فَاصْدَعْ بِمَا تُؤْمَرُ}، فانتقلت الدعوة إلى الجهر العلني في أسواق مكة وندواتها.
3. Seven Years of Fierce Opposition and Endurance | سبع سنوات من مواجهة التعذيب والحصار الظالم
From the fourth year to the tenth year of prophethood, Quraysh waged intense resistance: physical torture of vulnerable Muslims, psychological slander, negotiations of compromise, and the brutal three-year economic and social blockade in the Valley of Abu Talib.
فَاصْدَعْ بِمَا تُؤْمَرُ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ (سورة الحجر: 94)
امتدت هذه المرحلة الصعبة من العام الرابع حتى العاشر؛ وواجهت فيها قريش الدعوة بأشد أساليب البطش والتعذيب للضعفاء، والتشويه الإعلامي، وصولاً إلى الحصار الاقتصادي والاجتماعي الظالم في شِعب أبي طالب ثلاث سنوات.
4. The Outreach Phase Beyond Meccan Borders | مرحلة نشر الدعوة خارج مكة والبحث عن نصير
Following the deaths of Abu Talib and Khadijah in the Year of Grief, the Prophet expanded his focus outside Mecca: journeying to Ta'if, presenting Islam to visiting nomadic tribes during seasonal pilgrimage fairs, and seeking a secure base for the nascent faith.
قُلْ هَـٰذِهِ سَبِيلِي أَدْعُو إِلَى اللَّـهِ عَلَىٰ بَصِيرَةٍ (سورة يوسف: 108)
بعد وفاة خديجة وأبي طالب في عام الحزن، اشتد أذى قريش فتوجه النبي ﷺ بالدعوة إلى خارج مكة: فذهب صابراً إلى الطائف، وأخذ يعرض نفسه ورسالته على وفود القبائل في مواسم الحج وسوق عكاظ طلباً للحماية والنصرة.
5. The Pledges of Aqabah and the Dawn of Hijrah | بيعتا العقبة وفتح آفاق الهجرة المباركة إلى يثرب
The third phase culminated in meeting the delegations from Yathrib (Medina). The First and Second Pledges of Aqabah established a sacred alliance, providing the believers with a secure sanctuary and setting the stage for the historic Hijrah.
وَالسَّابِقُونَ الْأَوَّلُونَ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالْأَنصَارِ وَالَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوهُم بِإِحْسَانٍ رَّضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا عَنْهُ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي تَحْتَهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا ذَٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ (سورة التوبة: 100)
أثمرت المرحلة الأخيرة لقاءه بستة نفر من أهل يثرب، ثم تتابعت بيعتا العقبة الأولى والثانية؛ فبايعه الأنصار على نصرة الإسلام واستقباله في بلدهم، فانفتح باب الهجرة المباركة وتأسيس الدولة.
