Surah An-Nisa 4:164 and Surah Ghafir 40:78 both state, in nearly identical wording, that Allah related the stories of some Messengers to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and withheld the stories of others. Ibn Kathir notes on 40:78 that those whose stories were not told are many times more than those mentioned; the Quran does not set out to enumerate them in full. 2. Belief in All of Allah's Messengers | جميع رسل الله سواء في الحق
Whether named in the Quran or not, believers are taught to believe in every Messenger of Allah without distinguishing between them in belief: "We make no distinction between any of His messengers" (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:285). This means the value of a Prophet's mission was never tied to whether his story happened to be recorded for us in the Quran.

A Muslim is required to affirm every Prophet Allah sent, even without knowing his name or story, simply on the basis that Allah tells us they existed. This is why the Quran's silence on most of them is treated as a matter of Allah's wisdom, not an incomplete record.
