Surah Az-Zukhruf (The Gold Adornments)

89 Verses

In the Name of Almighty Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Surah Az-Zukhruf is the 43rd chapter of the Quran, containing 89 verses. Revealed in Makkah, it takes its name from its mention of ornaments of gold, noting that if not for the risk of all mankind uniting in disbelief, Allah would have given disbelievers houses of silver roofs and gold ornaments, showing how little such worldly wealth truly weighs against guidance. The surah defends the Quran as a clear Book revealed in Arabic, recounts Abraham disowning his father’s idols, briefly retells the story of Pharaoh and Moses, refutes the pagan claim that the angels are Allah’s daughters, and firmly rejects the deification of Jesus, affirming him as a servant and a sign of Allah. It closes describing the bliss of the righteous in the Garden against the torment of the wicked in the Fire, and affirms Allah’s sole lordship over the heavens and the earth. Below you can read the full Surah Az-Zukhruf in Arabic with a clear English translation and a verse-by-verse tafsir (explanation of the meaning) from Aysar al-Tafaseer, with the option to jump to any specific verse.

Tafsir of the Verses

{ حـمۤ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 1
1. Ha. Mim: They are read separately. Allah knows best their meaning.
{ وَٱلْكِتَابِ ٱلْمُبِينِ }
{ وَٱلْكِتَابِ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 2
2. Allah Almighty swears by the Quran, the clear and evident book.
{ إِنَّا جَعَلْنَاهُ قُرْآناً عَرَبِيّاً لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ }
{ جَعَلْنَاهُ } { قُرْآناً }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 3
3. The reason that Allah Almighty revealed the Quran in clear Arabic is that He wanted the Arabs to understand and execute its laws, and contemplate its meaning and its inimitable nature. For the Quran was revealed in their mother tongue.
{ وَإِنَّهُ فِيۤ أُمِّ ٱلْكِتَابِ لَدَيْنَا لَعَلِيٌّ حَكِيمٌ }
{ ٱلْكِتَابِ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 4
4. This Book is from Allah’s eternal knowledge and His perpetual disposition.  It is greatly honoured and has an important position. It is well structured and pure of all ambiguity and falsehood.
{ أَفَنَضْرِبُ عَنكُمُ ٱلذِّكْرَ صَفْحاً أَن كُنتُمْ قَوْماً مُّسْرِفِينَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 5
5. There are two interpretations of this noble verse:
1- “Do you think that We forgive you,  and We do not punish you though you did not do as your Lord commanded you?” This is Ibn Abbas’s interpretation.
2- Through His kindness and mercy for His creatures, Allah Almighty does not neglect their prayers to Him and their reciting the Quran even if they were transgressors who turn away from him. Thus, he whom Allah  ordained to be guided will be guided, and an argument will be established against he whom Allah ordained to be miserable.
{ وَكَمْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن نَّبِيٍّ فِي ٱلأَوَّلِينَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 6
6. Allah consoles His Prophet for the grief and sadness he faces as a result of his people who treat his message as a lie, and who turn away from him; He tells him that He sent many messengers before him to previous generations.
{ وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّنْ نَّبِيٍّ إِلاَّ كَانُواْ بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ }
{ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 7
7. Those nations used to treat every prophet who was sent to them as a liar and to mock him.
{ فَأَهْلَكْنَآ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُم بَطْشاً وَمَضَىٰ مَثَلُ ٱلأَوَّلِينَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 8
8. Allah Almighty destroyed those nations that treated their messengers as liars. They were stronger and more powerful than your people, the Arabs, who treat you, O Mohammad, as a liar. Allah has made the destruction of the unbelievers an example and a lesson for those sensible generations who came after them so they could consider for fear that what descended upon the previous people might descend upon them.
{ وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُمْ مَّنْ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلأَرْضَ لَيَقُولُنَّ خَلَقَهُنَّ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ }
{ لَئِن } { ٱلسَّمَاوَاتِ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 9
9. And if you ask the polytheists among your people, O Mohammad, who created the heavens and the earth, they will admit that their Creator is Allah, the All-Powerful in His Majesty and Vengeance. He knows them and what lies above them.
{ ٱلَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلأَرْضَ مَهْداً وَجَعَلَ لَكُمْ فِيهَا سُبُلاً لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 10
10. Allah Almighty made the earth spread out like a mattress for people to live and sleep on. He made the roads for people to be guided to their destination during their journeys from one country to another.
{ وَٱلَّذِي نَزَّلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً بِقَدَرٍ فَأَنشَرْنَا بِهِ بَلْدَةً مَّيْتاً كَذَلِكَ تُخْرَجُونَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 11
11. It is Allah Almighty who sends down sufficient rain from the sky, according to need. He does not send down excessive water which destroys plants and people, nor does He send down too little water which is insufficient for the growth of vegetation and cultivation  and causes the destruction by thirst and hunger to both man and animals. Just as Allah revived the dead earth with water, He will raise man from the grave on Doomsday.
{ وَٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلأَزْوَاجَ كُلَّهَا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمْ مِّنَ ٱلْفُلْكِ وَٱلأَنْعَامِ مَا تَرْكَبُونَ }
{ ٱلأَزْوَاجَ } { وَٱلأَنْعَامِ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 12
12. It was Allah Almighty Who created the different kinds of plants which the earth put forth as well as animals of different types, colour and size. He made the ships for you to sail across the seas and rivers during your trips and to transport your goods and belongings. He created donkeys, mules and camels  for you to ride on land and to transport your heavy loads .
{ لِتَسْتَوُواْ عَلَىٰ ظُهُورِهِ ثُمَّ تَذْكُرُواْ نِعْمَةَ رَبِّكُمْ إِذَا ٱسْتَوَيْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ وَتَقُولُواْ سُبْحَانَ ٱلَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَـٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ }
{ لِتَسْتَوُواْ } { سُبْحَانَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 13
13. When you are settled on their backs, celebrate your Lord’s favour which He bestowed upon you and Praise Him highly and say to purify  Him: “Glory be to Him who has subjected these which we ride to our use. Without the grace of Allah, we would never have been able to dominate them or make use of them.”
{ وَإِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا لَمُنقَلِبُونَ }
Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 14
14. And to add to your thanks to your Lord for His favours say: “We will return  to our Lord the Glorious and Mighty after we die, and He will reward  each  of us for our deeds. So prepare yourselves, O people, for that day, and  remember to invoke Him in your repose and on your journeys.”
{ وَجَعَلُواْ لَهُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ جُزْءًا إِنَّ ٱلإنسَانَ لَكَفُورٌ مُّبِينٌ }
{ ٱلإنسَانَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 15
15. Those polytheists  attribute to Allah Almighty a son (“a part” because the son is a part of the father ). The Arabs polytheists said, “The angels are the daughters of Allah,”  and assign to themselves the male sons while they attribute the girls to Allah, while they themselves hate girls. Thus they attribute to Him the worst of choices. Man is ungrateful for Allah’s favours upon him. And he is most disdainful of them. His ingratitude for the favours is obvious and clear to whoever contemplates and reflects.
{ أَمِ ٱتَّخَذَ مِمَّا يَخْلُقُ بَنَاتٍ وَأَصْفَاكُم بِٱلْبَنِينَ }
{ وَأَصْفَاكُم }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 16
16. Allah Almighty condemns the division of those blasphemous polytheists and says to them: “Has your Lord adopted, according to you, the more inferior of His creations, the daughters, and chosen for you the superior, the males?”
{ وَإِذَا بُشِّرَ أَحَدُهُم بِمَا ضَرَبَ لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ مَثَلاً ظَلَّ وَجْهُهُ مُسْوَدّاً وَهُوَ كَظِيمٌ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 17
17. If news is brought to one of these polytheists of the birth of a daughter, he scorns her and is filled with sadness and grief  at the announcement of this piece of bad news. He retreats in shame from his people. But how do those who give associates to Allah detest having daughters and yet they attribute daughters to Allah Almighty? Allah is purified of all that they say.
{ أَوَمَن يُنَشَّأُ فِي ٱلْحِلْيَةِ وَهُوَ فِي ٱلْخِصَامِ غَيْرُ مُبِينٍ }
{ يُنَشَّأُ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 18
18. They associate the women with Allah, when they are imperfect. They make amends for their deficiency by putting on trinkets and ornaments from their childhood, and in an argument they are incapable of elucidating or expressing themselves eloquently. Is this appropriate to associate those who have such characteristics  with Allah the Great?
{ وَجَعَلُواْ ٱلْمَلاَئِكَةَ ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عِبَادُ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ إِنَاثاً أَشَهِدُواْ خَلْقَهُمْ سَتُكْتَبُ شَهَادَتُهُمْ وَيُسْأَلُونَ }
{ عِبَادُ } { إِنَاثاً } { ٱلْمَلاَئِكَةَ } { شَهَادَتُهُمْ } { يُسْأَلُونَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 19
19. The polytheists believed that the angels, who are Allah’s servants and His creation, are females, and they therefore named them accordingly and sentenced them to being women. But were they present when Allah created them and therefore knew that they were females? They did not witness anything of the kind, and Allah Almighty warns them saying that He will record their testimonial and will call them to account for it on Judgement Day and He will judge them for it. The polytheists have blasphemed in saying that the angels are the daughters of Allah  and that they are women in three ways:
1- They have attributed a child to Allah Almighty, but He is purified from that;
2- They have given, in their opinion, the worst of choice, to Allah;
3- They have degraded the angels and said that they were women.
{ وَقَالُواْ لَوْ شَآءَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ مَا عَبَدْنَاهُمْ مَّا لَهُم بِذَلِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ إِنْ هُمْ إِلاَّ يَخْرُصُونَ }
{ عَبَدْنَاهُمْ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 20
20. The polytheists said that if Allah Almighty had willed them not to  worship such idols to whom they gave the images of women and said that they were the daughters of Allah, Allah would have intervened and prevented them, for Allah Almighty knows that they worship them and He accedes to that. But in reality, those people have no proof  that what they say is true. They are only liars who make up lies about Allah and attribute to Him what He has not said.
{ أَمْ آتَيْنَاهُمْ كِتَاباً مِّن قَبْلِهِ فَهُم بِهِ مُسْتَمْسِكُونَ }
{ آتَيْنَاهُمْ } { كِتَاباً }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 21
21. Or do those who give Allah associates and worship idols rely on the fact that Allah Almighty gave them a book before the Quran (or before their polytheism) in which there is proof of the validity of their worshipping idols and they rely on it? Allah Almighty did not send them such a  thing, so they have no excuse for what they said, or proof or sign.
{ بَلْ قَالُوۤاْ إِنَّا وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا عَلَىٰ أُمَّةٍ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰ ءَاثَارِهِم مُّهْتَدُونَ }
{ آبَآءَنَا } { آثَارِهِم }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 22
22. When they could find no proof  to the validity of what they worship, they said that they had found their ancestors worshipping these idols so they in turn worshipped them, and they followed in their footsteps and took them as examples. For, they thought that their ancestors were of sounder minds and better understanding than them, so they could not be wrong in worshipping these idols.
{ وَكَذَلِكَ مَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ فِي قَرْيَةٍ مِّن نَّذِيرٍ إِلاَّ قَالَ مُتْرَفُوهَآ إِنَّا وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا عَلَىٰ أُمَّةٍ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰ ءَاثَارِهِم مُّقْتَدُونَ }
{ آبَآءَنَا } { آثَارِهِم }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 23
23. The Arabs polytheists of Quraish were not the only ones to say what they did; for, whenever Allah Almighty sent a messenger to the towns of past nations, the wealthy and powerful said they had found their ancestors following a certain religion and had therefore followed in their footsteps, adopted their religion and taken them as an example to follow.
{ قَٰلَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكُمْ بِأَهْدَىٰ مِمَّا وَجَدتُّمْ عَلَيْهِ آبَآءَكُمْ قَالُوۤاْ إِنَّا بِمَآ أُرْسِلْتُمْ بِهِ كَافِرُونَ }
{ قَٰلَ } { آبَآءَكُمْ } { كَافِرُونَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 24
24. So their messenger said to them: “Will you follow the path of your ancestors even if I bring you better guidance to the straight path?” They replied by saying that they would indeed continue to follow the religion of their ancestors even if he brought them a better guidance and they would not believe in that which he brought. It was therefore useless to call them to abandon the religion of their ancestors.
{ فَٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ }
{ عَاقِبَةُ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 25
25. Allah Almighty sent down His punishment upon those among the past nations who treated their messengers as liars. Look, O Mohammad, at what their fate was and how Allah Almighty set their houses tumbling over their heads and did not leave any trace of them. Thus He does to the wrong-doers.
{ وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ لأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِ إِنَّنِي بَرَآءٌ مِّمَّا تَعْبُدُونَ }
{ إِبْرَاهِيمُ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 26
26. Tell your people, O Mohammad, the story of their ancestor Abraham who announced to his father Azar and his people that he disavowed the idols which they worshipped instead of Allah.
{ إِلاَّ ٱلَّذِي فَطَرَنِي فَإِنَّهُ سَيَهْدِينِ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 27
27. And that he would worship only Allah Who had created him from nothing and Who would  guide him  to the right path and help him follow the Truth.
{ وَجَعَلَهَا كَلِمَةً بَاقِيَةً فِي عَقِبِهِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 28
28. And he made the word of “monotheism” (that there is no god but Allah) a lasting word which was passed from one generation to the other to guide those among his descendants whom Allah had guided; perhaps they would remember the path of their father Abraham. Thus, they might turn to Allah and devote themselves to His service and His worship.
{ بَلْ مَتَّعْتُ هَـٰؤُلاَءِ وَآبَآءَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْحَقُّ وَرَسُولٌ مُّبِينٌ }
{ آبَآءَهُمْ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 29
29. But Allah Almighty gave the polytheists the delights of a good life as He had given their ancestors before them. He prolonged  their lives and bestowed upon them many blessings. Thus they became absorbed in their bliss and their pleasures and obeyed the devil and forgot monotheism. Allah then sent them a messenger who invited them to believe in Allah and to return to monotheism. He sent the Quran with him so that his message would be clear and evident.
{ وَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْحَقُّ قَالُواْ هَـٰذَا سِحْرٌ وَإِنَّا بِهِ كَافِرُونَ }
{ كَافِرُونَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 30
30. When the Quran and the messenger came to them they said: “What Mohammad has brought is sorcery and not a revelation from Allah.” They rejected it and disbelieved in it out of injustice and envy.
{ وَقَالُواْ لَوْلاَ نُزِّلَ هَـٰذَا ٱلْقُرْآنُ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٍ مِّنَ ٱلْقَرْيَتَيْنِ عَظِيمٍ }
{ ٱلْقُرْآنُ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 31
31. And they objected to Allah’s choice of the messenger Mohammad (peace be upon him)  and said: “The status of a prophet is a noble one and  is suitable only for a noble, high-ranking, wealthy man from Makkah or Ta’ef  (“the two cities”); but  Mohammad is neither wealthy nor high-ranking.” (Some commentators said that they meant Walid ibn Mugheera from Makkah and  Walid ibn Masoud Al-Thakafi  from Ta’ef ).
{ أَهُمْ يَقْسِمُونَ رَحْمَتَ رَبِّكَ نَحْنُ قَسَمْنَا بَيْنَهُمْ مَّعِيشَتَهُمْ فِي ٱلْحَيَاةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَرَفَعْنَا بَعْضَهُمْ فَوْقَ بَعْضٍ دَرَجَاتٍ لِّيَتَّخِذَ بَعْضُهُم بَعْضاً سُخْرِيّاً وَرَحْمَتُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ مِّمَّا يَجْمَعُونَ }
{ رَحْمَتَ } { ٱلْحَيَاةِ } { دَرَجَاتٍ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 32
32. Allah Almighty condemns what those polytheists said and responds to their objection by saying that the choice of prophets is not a matter left for them so that they might suggest to Allah whom to choose. It is  for Allah Alone to choose. He knows best   whom to trust His message with, for He reveals it only to the most pure among creatures in both heart and soul, the most noble in family and the most virtuous in ancestry. Then Allah Almighty says that in this life He has raised some of His servants above others in might, wealth, fame and diligence for if they were all equal in rank, some would not serve others and no one would employ anyone else which would provoke disorder in the organization of life. Allah’s mercy is better than the wealth  they amass and all the pleasures of this life.
{ وَلَوْلاَ أَن يَكُونَ ٱلنَّاسُ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً لَّجَعَلْنَا لِمَن يَكْفُرُ بِٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ لِبُيُوتِهِمْ سُقُفاً مِّن فِضَّةٍ وَمَعَارِجَ عَلَيْهَا يَظْهَرُونَ }
{ وَاحِدَةً }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 33
33. And if it were not that many ignorant people believe that when Allah grants someone wealth it is that  He Almighty prefers him to others, so they would all unite in disbelief for the sake of money, and desire it when they see the abundance in blessings, Allah would assign to those who blasphemes against Him houses with silver roofs and silver staircases by which to go up. This is because life on earth is insignificant to Allah.
{ وَلِبُيُوتِهِمْ أَبْوَاباً وَسُرُراً عَلَيْهَا يَتَّكِئُونَ }
{ أَبْوَاباً }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 34
34. He would have supplied their houses with silver doors and silver couches to recline on.
{ وَزُخْرُفاً وَإِن كُلُّ ذَلِكَ لَمَّا مَتَاعُ ٱلْحَيَاةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلآخِرَةُ عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ }
{ مَتَاعُ } { ٱلْحَيَاةِ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 35
35. And He would have supplied their houses with ornaments and decoration. But all this is a short temporary enjoyment. The Hereafter, on the other hand, with its indescribable bliss is reserved only for the pious who fear their Lord. No one will share it with them.
{ وَمَن يَعْشُ عَن ذِكْرِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ نُقَيِّضْ لَهُ شَيْطَاناً فَهُوَ لَهُ قَرِينٌ }
{ شَيْطَاناً }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 36
36. Whoever is blinded with regard to the Quran, neglects the invocation of Allah Almighty and is absorbed  by disobedience and the pleasures and temptations of life, Allah Almighty will set up the devils among men and jinn to be his inseparable companions to embellish his sins for him and his preoccupation with worldly delights. Thus, he sinks deeper into them and will thus earn Allah’s wrath and punishment.
{ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَيَصُدُّونَهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّهُم مُّهْتَدُونَ }
Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 37
37. And those satanic companions among men and jinn whom Allah appoints to he who neglects the remembrance of the Merciful, try to turn him from the truth to wrongdoing and they insinuate to him that he is on the right path of truth and guidance and that others are on the wrong path. They urge him to detest faith, and he obeys them.
{ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا جَآءَنَا قَالَ يٰلَيْتَ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكَ بُعْدَ ٱلْمَشْرِقَيْنِ فَبِئْسَ ٱلْقَرِينُ }
{ يٰلَيْتَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 38
38. And when this thoughtless person who has a  devil appointed to him meets his Lord on the Day of Judgement,  he remonstrates with the devil appointed to him and says:  “I wish the distance  between you and  me were as that from East to West.  What an evil  companion you are for you have misguided me and led me to the shame and suffering in which I find myself.”
{ وَلَن يَنفَعَكُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ إِذ ظَّلَمْتُمْ أَنَّكُمْ فِي ٱلْعَذَابِ مُشْتَرِكُونَ }
Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 39
39. To these  ignorant and thoughtless people and their devils, it will be said rebukingly and reproachfully: “Neither your reunion in Hell nor your participation in the painful punishment  will be of any avail to you; for each of you will have sufficient torment.”
{ أَفَأَنتَ تُسْمِعُ ٱلصُّمَّ أَوْ تَهْدِي ٱلْعُمْيَ وَمَن كَانَ فِي ضَلاَلٍ مُّبِينٍ }
{ ضَلاَلٍ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 40
40. You, O Mohammad, cannot make the deaf hear; those whom Allah Almighty has deprived of  hearing; and you cannot guide the blind whose hearts and eyes Allah has blinded. Neither can you guide those whom the devil has dominated and for whom he has decorated the path of error. But this is not your responsibility for you are a messenger from your Lord, to convey the message which He revealed to you. Allah alone is able to guide them and He is the One who calls them to account for all their actions.
{ فَإِمَّا نَذْهَبَنَّ بِكَ فَإِنَّا مِنْهُم مُّنتَقِمُونَ }
Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 41
41. Then if Allah Almighty removes you from them either through death or migration, He will take His revenge against them in both this life and the Hereafter as He did with other nations who treated their messengers as liars.
{ أَوْ نُرِيَنَّكَ ٱلَّذِي وَعَدْنَاهُمْ فَإِنَّا عَلَيْهِمْ مُّقْتَدِرُونَ }
{ وَعَدْنَاهُمْ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 42
42. Or Allah Almighty will show His noble Messenger the victory that He has promised him against His enemies, the polytheists, so that He can test them through him. He Almighty is capable of descending upon them what He has warned them of if they persist in their disbelief and oppression.
{ فَٱسْتَمْسِكْ بِٱلَّذِيۤ أُوحِيَ إِلَيْكَ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ }
{ صِرَاطٍ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 43
43. If one of the two previously mentioned hypotheses were an accomplished fact, you should, O Messenger, hold fast to the Quran that was revealed to you by Allah, for it is the truth that leads he who follows it to the straight path which in turn leads to the gardens of bliss in the Hereafter.
{ وَإِنَّهُ لَذِكْرٌ لَّكَ وَلِقَوْمِكَ وَسَوْفَ تُسْأَلُونَ }
{ تُسْأَلُونَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 44
44. This Quran is a great honour for you and your people because it has been revealed in their language to a man from among them. They should therefore be the people most desirous of being guided by it and applying themselves to its teachings. You people will be interrogated to find out if you have discharged your duties towards the Quran by carrying out its laws and provisions.
{ وَسْئَلْ مَنْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ مِن رُّسُلِنَآ أَجَعَلْنَا مِن دُونِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ آلِهَةً يُعْبَدُونَ }
{ وَسْئَلْ } { آلِهَةً }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 45
45. You O Mohammad, are not the first messenger to call the people to worship Allah without associates and to forbid them from ascribing partners to Him and from worshipping idols…. Previous messengers sent to nations before you did the same. None of the prophets called to the worship of other than Allah the Merciful, the Gracious for there is no Lord but He and no Allah but He.
{ وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ بِآيَـٰتِنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلإِيْهِ فَقَالَ إِنِّي رَسُولُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ }
{ بِآيَاتِنَآ } { وَمَلَئِهِ } { ٱلْعَالَمِينَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 46
46. Allah Almighty says that He sent His messenger Moses to Pharaoh and his people and He supported him with signs and miracles to sustain his call. Moses told them that he was a messenger from the Lord of the universe to them just as you told your people that you were Allah’s Messenger to them.
{ فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُم بِآيَاتِنَآ إِذَا هُم مِّنْهَا يَضْحَكُونَ }
{ بِآيَاتِنَآ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 47
47. When Moses came to them with the miracles  which Allah supported him with such as his hand and the staff, Pharaoh and his people laughed at these miracles and ridiculed Moses without looking into his signs just as your people ridicule what you bring to them today.
{ وَمَا نُرِيِهِم مِّنْ آيَةٍ إِلاَّ هِيَ أَكْبَرُ مِنْ أُخْتِهَا وَأَخَذْنَاهُم بِٱلْعَذَابِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ }
{ آيَةٍ } { وَأَخَذْنَاهُم }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 48
48. We did not show Pharaoh and his people one argument or miracle from us to prove the veracity of what Moses had brought them which was not   greater than previous ones and more convincing of the truth of the call of Moses to worship Allah without associates. But when they insisted on their disbelief and their tyranny, We descended upon them different kinds of punishment such as the scarcity of crops, locusts, lice and frogs, which would lead them to think about what Moses had preached to them, and thus they would  return to Allah and abandon their disbelief in Him, His Books and messengers.
{ وَقَالُواْ يَٰأَيُّهَ ٱلسَّاحِرُ ٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ بِمَا عَهِدَ عِندَكَ إِنَّنَا لَمُهْتَدُونَ }
{ يَٰأَيُّهَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 49
49. Every time they received one of these signs, they would humble  themselves before Moses and were gentle with him and said: “O great sorcerer (meaning learned man)! You told us that your Lord  told you that if we believed in you and your message, He would revoke the punishment He descended upon us. So invoke your Lord to drive away this punishment and we vow to you that we will believe in your call if this happens.”
{ فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابَ إِذَا هُمْ يَنكُثُونَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 50
50. So Moses prayed to his Lord, and Allah Almighty removed the chastisement. But they did not believe in him and they broke the vow that they had taken. This happened several times.
{ وَنَادَىٰ فِرْعَوْنُ فِي قَوْمِهِ قَالَ يٰقَوْمِ أَلَيْسَ لِي مُلْكُ مِصْرَ وَهَـٰذِهِ ٱلأَنْهَارُ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِيۤ أَفَلاَ تُبْصِرُونَ }
{ يٰقَوْمِ } { ٱلأَنْهَارُ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 51
51. So Pharaoh gathered his people and proclaimed arrogantly and presumptuously, that the kingdom of Egypt belonged to him and that he disposed of it and of all the rivers that flowed in its land. He then said: “Do you not see my power and high rank?” Pharaoh wished by this proclamation to strengthen the belief of his people in him and to draw them away from the influence of Moses and the signs which he had brought.
{ أَمْ أَنَآ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِي هُوَ مَهِينٌ وَلاَ يَكَادُ يُبِينُ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 52
52. Pharaoh told his people: “I am better than Moses, a weak and contemptible wretch who stutters and can hardly express himself or make himself clear.”
{ فَلَوْلاَ أُلْقِيَ عَلَيْهِ أَسْوِرَةٌ مِّن ذَهَبٍ أَوْ جَآءَ مَعَهُ ٱلْمَلاَئِكَةُ مُقْتَرِنِينَ }
{ ٱلْمَلاَئِكَةُ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 53
53. Why then does not his Lord bestow upon him gold bracelets to decorate himself with, if he is truthful in what he pretends? And why are there no angels accompanying him in procession to help him in his  affair and to bear witness to his prophecy?
{ فَٱسْتَخَفَّ قَوْمَهُ فَأَطَاعُوهُ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُواْ قَوْماً فَاسِقِينَ }
{ فَاسِقِينَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 54
54. Thus  Pharaoh made fools of  his people with these false arguments and he led them astray. They followed  him obediently, for they were a perverse people who disobeyed Allah Almighty.
{ فَلَمَّآ آسَفُونَا ٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ فَأَغْرَقْنَاهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ }
{ آسَفُونَا } { فَأَغْرَقْنَاهُمْ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 55
55. But when at length  they provoked Us with their obstinacy and their arrogance and their sins on earth, We revenged Ourselves on them and hastened their punishment; thus We drowned them all.
{ فَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ سَلَفاً وَمَثَلاً لِّلآخِرِينَ }
{ فَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 56
56. We made them an example to the perverse unbelievers who followed their path, and an example to the unbelievers who come after them.
{ وَلَمَّا ضُرِبَ ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ مَثَلاً إِذَا قَوْمُكَ مِنْهُ يَصِدُّونَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 57
57. It was said that the reason for the revelation  of this noble verse is that one day the Messenger of Allah sat with Al-Walid ibn Al-Mugheera Al-Makhzumi in the mosque. Nadar ibn Al-Hareth had come to sit with them. Other people from Quraish were also there. As the Messenger (peace be upon him)  was speaking, Nadar  ibn Al-Hareth interrupted him. The holy prophet reduced him to silence and then recited to him Allah’s words: “You and the false gods you worship instead of Allah are fuel for the fire, and to it you will surely come.” (See chapter 21- Al-Anbiyaa (The Prophets), 98). The Messenger then left. Later, Abdullah ibn Al-Zabari arrived and was told that Mohammad had opposed Al Nadar and claimed that they and the idols they worshipped were fuel for Hell. Ibn Zabari said: “By Allah, if I find him, I will argue with him. Ask Mohammad if it is true that any person who worships another divinity than Allah is in Hell along with what he worships. For we worship the angels, and the Jews worship Ezra and the Christians worship Jesus Christ!” When they mentioned what he had said to the Messenger, he said: “Anyone who enjoys being worshipped instead of Allah will join the one who worships him. For they worship the devil and those who commanded them to do so.” Allah Almighty revealed then this noble verse: “Those to whom We have already promised a good reward will be removed far from it.” (See chapter 21- Al-Anbiyaa (The Prophets), 101). And those to whom had already been promised a good reward by Allah are those who obeyed Allah and who were later adopted as divinities instead of Allah by the perverse people. And in this verse Allah Almighty tells His noble Messenger: “When ibn Zabary  gave Jesus the son of Mary as an example and disputed with the Prophet about his being worshipped by the Christians, your people clamoured and were happy with this example thinking that he had reduced the noble prophet to silence.”
{ وَقَالُوۤاْ ءَأَ ٰلِهَتُنَا خَيْرٌ أَمْ هُوَ مَا ضَرَبُوهُ لَكَ إِلاَّ جَدَلاً بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ خَصِمُونَ }
{ أَآلِهَتُنَا }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 58
58. The unbelievers said that their gods were not better than Jesus, and if  Jesus was fuel  for the Fire, then their idols were in a better situation. Allah Almighty said: “Those Unbelievers did not take Jesus, son of Mary, as an example to show up the truth, but that they did  so  for the sake of argument. Allah’s Words:  “You and what  you worship besides Allah are fuel for the Fire” (see chapter 21- Al-Anbiyaa (The Prophets), 98)  applies to the idols and  statues but does not apply to Jesus and the angels, for  ‘what’ is used for things (ma in Arabic is a relative pronoun used for non-rational) but they are people who like to argue.
{ إِنْ هُوَ إِلاَّ عَبْدٌ أَنْعَمْنَا عَلَيْهِ وَجَعَلْنَاهُ مَثَلاً لِّبَنِيۤ إِسْرَائِيلَ }
{ جَعَلْنَاهُ } { ۤ إِسْرَائِيلَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 59
59. Jesus, son of Mary, was no more than one of Our servants. We granted him  prophecy and We made him an example for the children of Israel by creating him without a father so that they may be guided to Allah’s power. The unconventional  creation  of Jesus does not justify that they should worship him.
{ وَلَوْ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلْنَا مِنكُمْ مَّلاَئِكَةً فِي ٱلأَرْضِ يَخْلُفُونَ }
{ مَّلاَئِكَةً }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 60
60. If Allah Almighty had wanted He would have made your descendants angels to succeed you on earth just as you succeed each other. In this way you would know that angels are subject to Allah’s will and power and do not deserve to be worshipped as gods instead of Allah.
{وَإِنَّهُۥ لَعِلۡمٞ لِّلسَّاعَةِ فَلَا تَمۡتَرُنَّ بِهَا وَٱتَّبِعُونِۚ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٞ مُّسۡتَقِيمٞ}

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 61
61. Allah’s creation of Jesus, son of Mary without a father, then his designation as a prophet are signs  that the Hour is close at hand. (Several Hadiths (sayings by the Messenger of Allah) tell about the descent of Jesus  before the Day of Judgement as a just master and a fair judge.) So do not doubt, O you people, that the Hour will inevitably come and follow the guidance of your Lord. What your messenger calls you to is the straight path that leads to Paradise.
{ وَلاَ يَصُدَّنَّكُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَانُ إِنَّهُ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ مُّبِينٌ }
{ ٱلشَّيْطَانُ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 62
62. Do not be deceived by  the whisperings of Satan and the doubts he throws into your hearts to hinder you from following the true religion which the Messenger called you to; for Satan is an enemy to Adam and his descendants. His animosity is evident.
{ وَلَمَّا جَآءَ عِيسَىٰ بِٱلْبَيِّنَاتِ قَالَ قَدْ جِئْتُكُم بِٱلْحِكْمَةِ وَلأُبَيِّنَ لَكُم بَعْضَ ٱلَّذِي تَخْتَلِفُونَ فِيهِ فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ }
{ بِٱلْبَيِّنَاتِ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 63
63. And when Jesus came with evident miracles, he told the children of  Israel that he had brought them  law and wisdom for the benefit of the people.  He also said that he had come to clarify some of the issues over which they had differed. Then he asked them to fear Allah and obey him in what he had brought to them  from their Lord such as the laws and obligations which he has communicated to them.
{ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكُمْ فَٱعْبُدُوهُ هَـٰذَا صِرَاطٌ مُّسْتَقِيمٌ }
{ صِرَاطٌ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 64
64. Then he told them that he and they were Allah’s Servants, for He Almighty was One, and He alone should be worshipped and obeyed. What he had  commanded them to do, notably to worship Allah Alone without associate or equal, was the straight path. All the other religions had brought the same teachings.
{ فَٱخْتَلَفَ ٱلأَحْزَابُ مِن بَيْنِهِمْ فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ مِنْ عَذَابِ يَوْمٍ أَلِيمٍ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 65
65. But those who believed in the message of Jesus disagreed over it: for some said that he was a servant of Allah and His Messenger; others said he was the son of Allah; still others said that he was Allah. Allah Almighty threatens those who diverged and who were immoderate on the subject of Jesus and said things about him which led to their blaspheming and their departing from the religion of monotheism He tells them: “Woe and destruction to them on the Day of Judgement  which is very redoubtable.”
{ هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلاَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ أَن تَأْتِيَهُمْ بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لاَ يَشْعُرُونَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 66
66. Do those excessive disputants who have spoken falsely about Jesus only wait for the Hour to come suddenly while they are inattentive and unaware of its approach? They will then repent.  But what a time for repentance! It will be of no use to them.
{ ٱلأَخِلاَّءُ يَوْمَئِذٍ بَعْضُهُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ إِلاَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ }
{ يَوْمَئِذٍ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 67
67. Allah Almighty says that all friendship and camaraderie on earth will change when the Hour is established into hostility except for those which were for the love of Allah or in the cause of Allah. For those will remain eternally on earth and in the Hereafter with the permanence of Allah.
{ يٰعِبَادِ لاَ خَوْفٌ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ وَلاَ أَنتُمْ تَحْزَنُونَ }
{ يٰعِبَادِ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 68
68. On the Day of Judgment Allah Almighty tells those who worship Him: “My devotees! Do not fear My punishment for I have secured you against it. I am content with you. Do not grieve over what you left behind you in life, for what I have in store for you in the Hereafter is far better.”
{ ٱلَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ بِآيَاتِنَا وَكَانُواْ مُسْلِمِينَ }
{ آمَنُواْ } { بِآيَاتِنَا }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 69
69. Allah Almighty shows in this noble verse the qualities of those who deserve His protection and  satisfaction.  They will not fear punishment or grieve over  what they left behind them on earth. He says: “They are those who believed with true hearts and pure souls, and submitted to Allah’s law both in their hearts and appearance.”
{ ٱدْخُلُواْ ٱلْجَنَّةَ أَنتُمْ وَأَزْوَاجُكُمْ تُحْبَرُونَ }
{ أَزْوَاجُكُمْ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 70
70. He said to them: “O Believers! Enter with your spouses the Garden of Paradise, rejoicing in what Allah has prepared for you as eternal and uninterrupted generosity.”
{ يُطَافُ عَلَيْهِمْ بِصِحَافٍ مِّن ذَهَبٍ وَأَكْوَابٍ وَفِيهَا مَا تَشْتَهِيهِ ٱلأَنْفُسُ وَتَلَذُّ ٱلأَعْيُنُ وَأَنتُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ }
{ خَالِدُونَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 71
71. After they have settled in  the Garden, plates of gold  with a variety of food will be passed around to them as well as cups of gold to drink from. In these dishes and cups there will be all that the soul could desire and all that the eyes could delight in. They will eat and drink, happy and filled with joy. To add to their happiness, they will be told that they will abide in this felicity in Paradise forever.
{ وَتِلْكَ ٱلْجَنَّةُ ٱلَّتِيۤ أُورِثْتُمُوهَا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ }
Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 72
72. Then those who are eternally in  Paradise are told: “This is Paradise and Allah has made it  an inheritance for you in compensation for your righteous deeds and your belief in your Lord.”
{ لَكُمْ فِيهَا فَاكِهَةٌ كَثِيرَةٌ مِّنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ }
{ فَاكِهَةٌ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 73
73. You will have a variety of fruit in abundance to choose from and to eat  without account, to thus perfect your bliss and happiness.
{ إِنَّ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ فِي عَذَابِ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدُونَ }
{ خَالِدُونَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 74
74. After Allah Almighty has mentioned the state of the happy believers in Paradise and all the fruit and drink they have, as well as unlimited blessings, He proceeds to mention the state of  unbelievers, the wrong-doers. He says: “The sinners will be in the Fire to dwell there eternally.”
{ لاَ يُفَتَّرُ عَنْهُمْ وَهُمْ فِيهِ مُبْلِسُونَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 75
75. The punishment will not be decreased, not even for a moment. They are silent and despairing of any good or an escape.
{ وَمَا ظَلَمْنَاهُمْ وَلَـٰكِن كَانُواْ هُمُ ٱلظَّالِمِينَ }
{ ظَلَمْنَاهُمْ } { ٱلظَّالِمِينَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 76
76. Allah has not unjustly treated those wrong-doers by inflicting on them a severe  punishment, but it is they who have been unjust to themselves by disbelieving and sinning. It is they who did wrong to themselves thus reaching their  evil destiny.
{ وَنَادَوْاْ يٰمَالِكُ لِيَقْضِ عَلَيْنَا رَبُّكَ قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ مَّاكِثُونَ }
{ يٰمَالِكُ } { مَّاكِثُونَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 77
77. When the punishment gets even more severe for the wrong-doers, they shout  and call out  from the Fire: “O Malek!” (Malek is the guardian of the Fire); “Call upon your Lord  to end our lives, so that we can rest from this severe torture.” Malek will say that  they will abide in Hell forever; there is no way out of it.
{ لَقَدْ جِئْنَاكُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَكُمْ لِلْحَقِّ كَارِهُونَ }
{ جِئْنَاكُم } { كَارِهُونَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 78
78. Allah Almighty reminds them — or Malek reminds them by order of His Lord — of the reason of their misery. Allah Almighty had sent them messengers calling them to follow the right path, but most of them turned away, refused to do so and were arrogant, which led them to the Fire of Hell.
{ أَمْ أَبْرَمُوۤاْ أَمْراً فَإِنَّا مُبْرِمُونَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 79
79. The Truth came to them but they turned it away with falsehood, and they plotted the murder of the Messenger. Thus Allah abrogated their plots and turned  them against them and He admitted them to the Fire where they will stay forever.
{ أَمْ يَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّا لاَ نَسْمَعُ سِرَّهُمْ وَنَجْوَاهُم بَلَىٰ وَرُسُلُنَا لَدَيْهِمْ يَكْتُبُونَ }
{ نَجْوَاهُم }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 80
80. Do those polytheists think that We do not hear what they  plot in secret? They are wrong, for We do know; and the angels assigned to them record their deeds, whether big or small.
{ قُلْ إِن كَانَ لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ وَلَدٌ فَأَنَاْ أَوَّلُ ٱلْعَابِدِينَ }
{ ٱلْعَابِدِينَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 81
81. O Mohammad! Tell those who claim that Allah has a son: “If it is proven with clear evidence that the Merciful has a son, then I would be the first to worship and obey him, just as a man glorifies the son of a king out of respect for his father.”
{ سُبْحَانَ رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلأَرْضِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَرْشِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ }
{ سُبْحَانَ } { ٱلسَّمَاوَاتِ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 82
82. To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and of every creature. He deems Himself  far above  what those polytheists say and the son that they attribute to Him.
{ فَذَرْهُمْ يَخُوضُواْ وَيَلْعَبُواْ حَتَّىٰ يُلَـٰقُواْ يَوْمَهُمُ ٱلَّذِي يُوعَدُونَ }
{ يُلاَقُواْ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 83
83. Let, O Messenger, those who fabricate lies against Allah talk foolishly and play vainly in their lives until the Day of Judgement. It is the Day when there is no escape. On that Day they will know their destiny and they will find the punishment for the lies they fabricated against Allah.
{ وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِي فِي ٱلسَّمآءِ إِلَـٰهٌ وَفِي ٱلأَرْضِ إِلَـٰهٌ وَهُوَ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 84
84. He is Allah, whom the people of the heavens and the earth worship. None other deserves to be worshipped. He is full of Wisdom in His laws and knowledge of His servants.
{ وَتَبَارَكَ ٱلَّذِي لَهُ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَعِندَهُ عِلْمُ ٱلسَّاعَةِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ }
{ ٱلسَّمَاوَاتِ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 85
85. Blessed is the Creator of the heavens and the earth  and the creatures and planets they contain. He disposes of them as He wishes without opposition or objection from anyone. He is All-Powerful, He has knowledge of the Hour, a knowledge He keeps to Himself. To Him all creatures return, each to receive his due.
{ وَلاَ يَمْلِكُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِ ٱلشَّفَاعَةَ إِلاَّ مَن شَهِدَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ }
{ ٱلشَّفَاعَةَ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 86
86. The idols and statues they worship to intercede for them and bring them closer to Allah, will not have the power of intercession on the Day of Judgement. But he who pronounced the word of Oneness and knew his Lord (as the angels and Jesus), his intercession will be accepted by Allah after His permission for those who deserve it. (It is said that the meaning is: The can only intercede for he who bears witness to the Truth and believes through knowledge and a clear vision).
{ وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَهُمْ لَيَقُولُنَّ ٱللَّهُ فَأَنَّىٰ يُؤْفَكُونَ }
{ وَلَئِن }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 87
87. If you ask those polytheists who worship others besides Allah, who created them and  all the other creatures they will admit that Allah Alone is the Creator of the heavens and the Creator of everything  in this existence, without partner.  However, in spite of their confession, they worship with Him divinities that possess nothing and are incapable of nothing. How can they move away from the right path to the path of perversity had they not been ignorant and foolish?”
{ وَقِيلِهِ يٰرَبِّ إِنَّ هَـٰؤُلاَءِ قَوْمٌ لاَّ يُؤْمِنُونَ }
{ يٰرَبِّ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 88
88. Mohammad said expressing his discontent with his people: “Oh Lord! Those are a people whose faith is not to be expected.”
{ فَٱصْفَحْ عَنْهُمْ وَقُلْ سَلاَمٌ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ }
{ سَلاَمٌ }

Surah Az-Zukhruf: Verse 89
89. So turn away from those stubborn people after you have conveyed your Lord’s message to them and do not reply using the same language that they use in talking to you. But hold your peace with them and forgive them in word and deed, for soon they will  know that the outcome of their disbelief and stubbornness is evident loss.
