In the Name of Almighty Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Surah An-Nasr is the 110th chapter of the Quran, containing 3 verses. Revealed in Madinah near the end of the Prophet’s life, it describes the coming of Allah’s help and the conquest of Makkah, when people would enter the religion of Allah in multitudes, and commands the Prophet in response to glorify the praise of his Lord and seek His forgiveness, for He is ever Accepting of repentance. Tafsir of the Verses
{ إِذَا جَآءَ نَصْرُ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلْفَتْحُ }
(1) – إِذَا رَأَيْتَ نَصْرَ اللهِ لِدِينِهِ الحَقِّ، وَانْهِزَامَ الشِّرْكِ وَأَهْلِهِ وَخِذْلاَنَهُمْ، وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ الغَلَبَةَ قَدْ تَحَقَّقَتْ لَكَ عَلَى المُشْرِكِينَ، وََفَتَحَ اللهُ عَلَيْكَ.
Surah An-Nasr: Verse 1
1. When you see the victory of Allah’s true religion and the defeat and humiliation of polytheism and its followers; and when you see that you have effected a victory over the idolaters and that Allah Almighty has blessed you with success;
{ وَرَأَيْتَ ٱلنَّاسَ يَدْخُلُونَ فِي دِينِ ٱللَّهِ أَفْوَاجاً }
(2) – وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ النَّاسَ قَدْ أَصْبحُوا يَدْخُلُونَ فِي الإِسْلاَمِ جَمَاعَاتٍ وَأَفْوَاجاً، لاَ أَفْرَاداً مُتَفَرِّقِينَ كَمَا كَانَ يَحْدُثُ فِي السِّنِينَ الأُولَى لِلدَّعْوَةِ.
Surah An-Nasr: Verse 2
2. and when you see that men have entered Islam in great numbers, not one by one as they did in the first few years of the call;
{ فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَٱسْتَغْفِرْهُ إِنَّهُ كَانَ تَوَّاباً }
(3) – فَذَلِكَ دَلِيلٌ عَلَى أَنَّ الخَوْفَ مِنْ اسْتِطَالَةِ المُشْرِكِينَ عَلَى المُسْلِمِينَ قَدْ وَلَّى، فَعَلَيْكَ أَنْ تُسَبِّحَ رَبَّكَ وَتَشْكُرَهُ عَلَى نِصْرِهِ دِينَهُ، وَإِعْزَازِهِ جُنْدَهُ عَلَى الكُفْرِ وَالكَافِرِينَ، وَعَلَيْكَ أَنْ تَسْتَغْفِرَهُ وَتَتُوبَ إِلَيهِ، فَهُوَ الكَثِيرُ القَبُولِ لِتَوْبَةِ عِبَادِهِ.
(وَقَالَ ابنُ عَبَّاسٍ: هَذِهِ السُّورَةُ عَلاَمَةٌ عَلَى أَجَلِ الرَّسُولِ، وَأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ السُّورَةُ.
” نُعِيَتْ إِلَيَّ نَفْسِي، وَأَنَّهُ مَقْبُوضٌ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ ”
(وَقَالَ ابنُ عَبَّاسٍ: هَذِهِ السُّورَةُ عَلاَمَةٌ عَلَى أَجَلِ الرَّسُولِ، وَأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ السُّورَةُ.
” نُعِيَتْ إِلَيَّ نَفْسِي، وَأَنَّهُ مَقْبُوضٌ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ ”
Surah An-Nasr: Verse 3
3. This, then, is proof that the fear of the encroachment of the polytheists upon Muslims is over. Thus, you should glorify Allah and thank Him for championing His religion and supporting His soldiers in the face of polytheists and polytheism. You should also turn to Him in repentance and pray for His forgiveness, for He readily accepts men’s repentance. (Ibn Abbas: “This chapter is an indication that the Prophet’s life was coming to a close.” He added that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said when this chapter was revealed: “This is my obituary; I am to die this year.”)
