بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Surah Al-Falaq is the 113th chapter of the Quran, containing 5 verses. Revealed in Makkah, it is one of the two Mu’awwidhatayn, the two chapters of seeking refuge, teaching the believer to say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the Daybreak, from the evil of what He created, from the evil of darkness as it settles, from the evil of those who practice witchcraft, and from the evil of an envier when he envies. Tafsir of the Verses
{ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلْفَلَقِ }
(1) – قُلْ: أَعْتَصِمُ وَاسْتَجِيرُ بِالرَّبِّ الذِي فَلَقَ الصُّبْحَ.
الفَلَقُ – الشّقُّ وَمِنْهُ فَلَقَ الحَبَّ وَالنَّوَى.
أَعُوذُ – أَعْتَصِمُ وَأَسْتَجِيرُ.
الفَلَقُ – الشّقُّ وَمِنْهُ فَلَقَ الحَبَّ وَالنَّوَى.
أَعُوذُ – أَعْتَصِمُ وَأَسْتَجِيرُ.
Surah Al-Falaq: Verse 1
1. Say: “I seek refuge and protection with the Lord Who caused dawn to break …
{ مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ }
(2) – مِنْ كُلِّ أَذًى وَشَرٍّ يُصِيبُنِي مِنْ كُلِّ مَخْلُوقٍ مِنْ مَخْلُوقَاتِ اللهِ.
Surah Al-Falaq: Verse 2
2. “from all harm and evil that any of Allah’s creatures could cause me.
{ وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ }
(3) – وَأَعُوذُ بِاللهِ مِنْ شَرِّ اللَّيْلِ إِذَا هَبَطَ وَغَمَرَ الكَوْنَ بِظَلاَمِهِ، وَاللَّيْلُ إِذَا كَانَ عَلَى تِلْكَ الحَالِ كَانَ مَخُوفاً بَاعِثاً عَلَى الرَّهْبَةِ فِي النُّفُوسِ.
غَاسِقٍ – اللَّيْلِ.
وَقَبَ – شَمِلَ ظَلاَمُهُ الكَوْنَ.
غَاسِقٍ – اللَّيْلِ.
وَقَبَ – شَمِلَ ظَلاَمُهُ الكَوْنَ.
Surah Al-Falaq: Verse 3
3. “I seek refuge in Allah from the evil of the darkness of the night when it gathers and envelops the universe in its blackness. For, when the night is so dark, it becomes menacing and arouses fear in the soul.
{ وَمِن شَرِّ ٱلنَّفَّاثَاتِ فِي ٱلْعُقَدِ }
{ ٱلنَّفَّاثَاتِ }
(4) – وَأَعْوذُ بِاللهِ مِنْ شَرِّ النَّمَّامِينَ الذِينَ يَقْطَعُونَ رَوَابِطَ الوِدِّ وَالمَحَبَّةِ، وَيُبَدِّدُونَ شَمْلَ الأُلْفَةِ.
(وَقَدْ شَبَّهَ تَعَالَى عَمَل النَّمامِينَ بِعَمَلِ السَّاحِرَاتِ اللَّوَاتِي يَنْفُثْنَ فِي عُقَدِ الخَيْطِ حِينَ يَقُمْنَ بِعَمَلِ السِّحْرِ).
(4) – وَأَعْوذُ بِاللهِ مِنْ شَرِّ النَّمَّامِينَ الذِينَ يَقْطَعُونَ رَوَابِطَ الوِدِّ وَالمَحَبَّةِ، وَيُبَدِّدُونَ شَمْلَ الأُلْفَةِ.
(وَقَدْ شَبَّهَ تَعَالَى عَمَل النَّمامِينَ بِعَمَلِ السَّاحِرَاتِ اللَّوَاتِي يَنْفُثْنَ فِي عُقَدِ الخَيْطِ حِينَ يَقُمْنَ بِعَمَلِ السِّحْرِ).
Surah Al-Falaq: Verse 4
4. “I seek refuge in Allah from the harm of slanderers who break the ties of love and affection and do away with friendship.” (Allah likens the work of slanderers to that of sorcerers who blow on the knots in a thread when they are casting a spell.)
{ وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ }
(5) – وَاسْتَعِذْ بِرَبِّكَ مِنْ شَرِّ الحَاسِدِ الذِي أَنْفَذَ حَسَدَهُ بِالسَّعْيِ وَالجِدِّ فِي إِزَالَةِ نِعْمَةِ مَنْ يَحْسُدُهُ، فَهُوَ يُعْمِلُ الحِيلَةَ، وَيَنْصُبُ الشِّبَاكَ لإِيقَاعِ المَحْسُودِ فِي الضَّرَّرِ، فَهُوَ لاَ يَرْضَى إِلاَّ بِزَوَالِ النِّعْمَةِ.
Surah Al-Falaq: Verse 5
5. I seek refuge in the Lord from the harm of the envious one who, not satisfied with envying, perseveres in his endeavours until he has deprived those he envies of their bliss. He performs tricks and casts his web to bring harm to those whom he envies. He is only satisfied when they lose their blessings.
