(O believers! When you contract a loan for a fixed period of time, commit it to writing. Let the scribe maintain justice between the parties. The scribe should not refuse to write as Allah has taught them to write. They will write what the debtor dictates, bearing Allah in mind and not defrauding the debt. If the debtor is incompetent, weak, or unable to dictate, let their guardian dictate for them with justice. Call upon two of your men to witness. If two men cannot be found, then one man and two women of your choice will witness, so if one of the women forgets the other may remind her. The witnesses must not refuse when they are summoned. You must not be against writing ˹contracts˺ for a fixed period, whether the sum is small or great. This is more just ˹for you˺ in the sight of Allah, and more convenient to establish evidence and remove doubts. However, if you conduct an immediate transaction among yourselves, then there is no need for you to record it, but call upon witnesses when a deal is finalized. Let no harm come to the scribe or witnesses. If you do, then you have gravely exceeded ˹your limits˺. Be mindful of Allah, for Allah ˹is the One Who˺ teaches you. ملاحظة: عند عد لفظ الجلالة في آيات المصحف كلها، تبين أنه ورد في آخر آية من سورة المزمل (المزمل 73: 20) سبع مرات، وهو أكثر ما ورد في آية واحدة، وأما آية الدين (البقرة 2: 282) فورد فيها ست مرات، وهي أطول آية في القرآن.
1. Seven Times in Al-Muzzammil 73:20 | سبع مرات في آية المزمل
The last verse of Surah Al-Muzzammil names Allah seven times: and Allah determines the night and the day; seeking of the bounty of Allah; fighting in the cause of Allah; lend Allah a goodly loan; you will find it with Allah; seek the forgiveness of Allah; indeed Allah is Forgiving, Merciful (73:20).
وَاسْتَغْفِرُوا اللَّهَ ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ (سورة المزمل: 20)
ورد لفظ الجلالة في الآية الأخيرة من سورة المزمل سبع مرات: (والله يقدر الليل والنهار)، (يبتغون من فضل الله)، (يقاتلون في سبيل الله)، (وأقرضوا الله قرضا حسنا)، (تجدوه عند الله)، (واستغفروا الله)، (إن الله غفور رحيم) (المزمل 73: 20).
2. Six Times in the Verse of Debt | ست مرات في آية الدين
Al-Baqarah 2:282 names Allah six times: as Allah has taught him; let him fear Allah, his Lord; more just in the sight of Allah; fear Allah; Allah teaches you; and Allah knows all things. 3. Recite What Is Easy of It | فاقرءوا ما تيسر منه
In 73:20 Allah lightens the night prayer: He knew that some would be ill, others travelling in the land seeking the bounty of Allah, and others fighting in the cause of Allah, so recite what is easy of the Quran. Ibn Kathir notes that the surah is Makkan and fighting had not yet been prescribed, so the verse is among the greatest proofs of prophethood, since it tells of the unseen future.
عَلِمَ أَن سَيَكُونُ مِنكُم مَّرْضَىٰ ۙ وَآخَرُونَ يَضْرِبُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ يَبْتَغُونَ مِن فَضْلِ اللَّهِ ۙ وَآخَرُونَ يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ۖ فَاقْرَءُوا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنْهُ (سورة المزمل: 20)
خفف الله في آية المزمل قيام الليل: (علم أن سيكون منكم مرضى وآخرون يضربون في الأرض يبتغون من فضل الله وآخرون يقاتلون في سبيل الله فاقرءوا ما تيسر منه) (المزمل 73: 20). وذكر ابن كثير أن السورة مكية ولم يكن القتال شرع بعد، فهي من أكبر دلائل النبوة، لأنها من باب الإخبار بالمغيبات المستقبلة.
4. And Allah Teaches You | ويعلمكم الله
Ibn Kathir explains fear Allah, and Allah teaches you (2:282): fear Him, be mindful of Him, follow His command and leave what He forbids, and He will teach you; he compares it with: if you fear Allah, He will grant you a criterion (8:29).
قال ابن كثير في قوله تعالى: (واتقوا الله ويعلمكم الله) (البقرة 2: 282): أي خافوه وراقبوه، واتبعوا أمره واتركوا زجره، وقرنه بقوله: (يا أيها الذين آمنوا إن تتقوا الله يجعل لكم فرقانا) (الأنفال 8: 29).
