The pangs of childbirth drove her to a palm tree and there was a rivulet below it. She was told to shake the trunk of the palm tree for the dates to fall and drink fresh water from the rivulet.
(So she conceived him and withdrew with him to a remote place. Then the pains of labour drove her to the trunk of a palm tree. She cried, “Alas! I wish I had died before this, and was a thing long forgotten!” So a voice reassured her from below her, “Do not grieve! Your Lord has provided a stream at your feet. And ˹if you˺ shake the trunk of this palm tree towards you, it will drop fresh, ripe dates upon you) Maryam 19: 22-25
لما بدأ المخاض و آلام الولادة اشتدت ذهبت مريم عليها السلام إلى مكان تحت شجرة نخل و كان عند الشجرة ساقية ماء . و أمرها الله تعالى أن تهز الشجرة و عندما فعلت ذلك تساقط الرطب و هو التمر (الذي هو غذاء كامل)، و أن تشرب من الماء النقي الذي في الساقية.
(فَحَمَلَتْهُ فَانتَبَذَتْ بِهِ مَكَانًا قَصِيًّا ﴿٢٢﴾ فَأَجَاءَهَا الْمَخَاضُ إِلَىٰ جِذْعِ النَّخْلَةِ قَالَتْ يَا لَيْتَنِي مِتُّ قَبْلَ هَـٰذَا وَكُنتُ نَسْيًا مَّنسِيًّا ﴿٢٣﴾ فَنَادَاهَا مِن تَحْتِهَا أَلَّا تَحْزَنِي قَدْ جَعَلَ رَبُّكِ تَحْتَكِ سَرِيًّا ﴿٢٤﴾ وَهُزِّي إِلَيْكِ بِجِذْعِ النَّخْلَةِ تُسَاقِطْ عَلَيْكِ رُطَبًا جَنِيًّا ﴿٢٥ مريم 19: 22-25
