Surah Al-Isra’a has another name, what is it?
The Holy Quran often has multiple names for its chapters based on the themes discussed. Surah Al-Isra'a is named after the miraculous night journey of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). However: it is also called Surah Bani Israel because it provides a detailed account of their rise: fall: and the spiritual lessons derived from their story.
Scholarly Insight: Many companions of the Prophet (PBUH) and early scholars referred to this Surah as "Bani Israel." The naming conventions in the Holy Quran often reflect the primary stories within the chapter. Since this Surah begins and concludes with the mention of the Children of Israel: both names are considered authentic and widely used in books of Tafsir.
