There are 7 heavens as mentioned in the Noble Quran:
(He is the One Who created everything in the earth for you. Then He turned towards the heaven, forming it into seven heavens. And He has ˹perfect˺ knowledge of all things.) [Al-Baqarah 2:29]
(So He formed the heaven into seven heavens in two Days, assigning to each its mandate.) [Fussilat 41:12]
(Allah is the One Who created seven heavens ˹in layers˺, and likewise for the earth.) [At-Talaq 65:12]

عدد السموات كما ذكره الله تعالى في القرآن الكريم هو 7 سماوات
(هُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ لَكُم مَّا فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ اسْتَوَىٰ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَسَوَّاهُنَّ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ ۚ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ) [البقرة 2: 29]
(فَقَضَاهُنَّ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ فِي يَوْمَيْنِ وَأَوْحَىٰ فِي كُلِّ سَمَاءٍ أَمْرَهَا ۚ) [فصلت 41: 12]
(اللَّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ وَمِنَ الْأَرْضِ مِثْلَهُنَّ) [الطلاق 65: 12]
(الَّذِي خَلَقَ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ طِبَاقًا ۖ مَا تَرَىٰ فِي خَلْقِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ مِنْ تَفَاوُتٍ ۖ فَارْجِعِ الْبَصَرَ هَلْ تَرَىٰ مِنْ فُطُورٍ) [الملك 67: 3]
(أَلَمْ تَرَوْا كَيْفَ خَلَقَ اللَّهُ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ طِبَاقًا) [نوح 71: 15]
1. Layer Upon Layer | سبع سماوات طباقا
Allah says: who created seven heavens in layers; you do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency; so look again: do you see any rifts (67:3). Ibn Kathir explains: one layer after another; the scholars held two views, that they touch one another or that there is space between them, and the more correct is the second, as the hadith of the Night Journey and others show. Ibn Abbas, Mujahid and others said rifts means cracks.
الَّذِي خَلَقَ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ طِبَاقًا (سورة الملك: 3)
قال تعالى: (الذي خلق سبع سماوات طباقا ما ترى في خلق الرحمن من تفاوت فارجع البصر هل ترى من فطور) (الملك 67: 3)، قال ابن كثير: أي طبقة بعد طبقة، وهل هن متواصلات أو متفاصلات بينهن خلاء؟ فيه قولان، أصحهما الثاني كما دل على ذلك حديث الإسراء وغيره، وقال ابن عباس ومجاهد وغيرهما في (فطور): أي شقوق.
2. And of the Earth, the Like of Them | ومن الأرض مثلهن
Allah says: Allah is the One who created seven heavens and of the earth the like of them (65:12). Ibn Kathir explains: seven as well, as established in the two Sahihs; the Prophet said: whoever wrongfully takes a hand-span of land, it will be put around his neck from seven earths (Sahih al-Bukhari 3198, also 2452). Ibn Kathir rejects taking the seven earths to mean seven climes.
اللَّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ وَمِنَ الْأَرْضِ مِثْلَهُنَّ (سورة الطلاق: 12)
قال تعالى: (الله الذي خلق سبع سماوات ومن الأرض مثلهن) (الطلاق 65: 12)، قال ابن كثير: أي سبعا أيضا، كما ثبت في الصحيحين: "من ظلم قيد شبر من الأرض طوقه من سبع أرضين"، ومن حمل ذلك على سبعة أقاليم فقد أبعد النجعة وخالف القرآن والحديث بلا مستند.
3. The Ascent Through the Heavens | العروج إلى السماوات
In the hadith of the Night Journey, the Prophet said that Jibril took him by the hand and ascended with him to the nearest heaven, and then on through the heavens, where he met prophets (Sahih al-Bukhari 349). This is the hadith Ibn Kathir points to for the space between the heavens.
وفي حديث الإسراء قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: "ثم أخذ بيدي فعرج بي إلى السماء الدنيا"، ثم عرج به في السماوات ولقي فيها الأنبياء (صحيح البخاري 349)، وهو الحديث الذي استدل به ابن كثير على أن بين السماوات خلاء.
4. The Seven Heavens Glorify Him | تسبح له السماوات السبع
The seven heavens and the earth and whoever is in them glorify Him (17:44). The seven surahs that open with this glorification are listed in which surahs open with the glorification of Allah.
تُسَبِّحُ لَهُ السَّمَاوَاتُ السَّبْعُ وَالْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهِنَّ (سورة الإسراء: 44)
قال تعالى: (تسبح له السماوات السبع والأرض ومن فيهن) (الإسراء 17: 44).
