بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Surah Al-Mursalat is the 77th chapter of the Quran, containing 50 verses. Revealed in Makkah, it opens with a series of oaths, understood by the commentators as winds sent forth one after another, affirming that what has been promised, the Day of Judgement, will surely come to pass. The surah repeats throughout the refrain “Woe on that Day to the deniers,” recalls how earlier disbelieving peoples were destroyed, describes the terrors awaiting the guilty in Hell, and closes by describing the cool shade, springs and fruits prepared for the righteous in Paradise. Tafsir of the Verses
{ وَٱلْمُرْسَلاَتِ عُرْفاً }
{ ٱلْمُرْسَلاَتِ }
(1) – يُقْسِمُ اللهُ تَعَالَى بِالرِّيَاحِ التِي تَهُبُّ شَيْئاً فَشَيئاً، وَكَاَنَّهَا عُرْفُ الفَرَسِ.
(وَقِيلَ أَيْضاً إِنَّ المُرْسَلاَتِ هُم المَلاَئِكَةُ الذِينَ يُرْسِلُهُمُ اللهُ تَعَالَى بِالإِحْسَانِ وَالمَعْرُوفِ إِلَى خَلْقِهِ).
عُرْفُ الفَرَسِ – شَعْرُ رَقَبَتِهَا.
(1) – يُقْسِمُ اللهُ تَعَالَى بِالرِّيَاحِ التِي تَهُبُّ شَيْئاً فَشَيئاً، وَكَاَنَّهَا عُرْفُ الفَرَسِ.
(وَقِيلَ أَيْضاً إِنَّ المُرْسَلاَتِ هُم المَلاَئِكَةُ الذِينَ يُرْسِلُهُمُ اللهُ تَعَالَى بِالإِحْسَانِ وَالمَعْرُوفِ إِلَى خَلْقِهِ).
عُرْفُ الفَرَسِ – شَعْرُ رَقَبَتِهَا.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 1
1. Allah Almighty swears by the winds that blow gently, as if they were the mane of a horse. (It is also said that those sent forth are the angels sent by Allah to bestow charity and kindness on His creatures).
{ فَٱلْعَاصِفَاتِ عَصْفاً }
{ فَٱلْعَاصِفَاتِ }
(2) – وَهَذِهِ الرِّيَاحُ تَهُبُّ هُبُوباً عَاصِفاً يُحْدِثُ صَوْتاً.
(2) – وَهَذِهِ الرِّيَاحُ تَهُبُّ هُبُوباً عَاصِفاً يُحْدِثُ صَوْتاً.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 2
2. These winds blow with a violence that produces a noise.
{ وٱلنَّاشِرَاتِ نَشْراً }
{ ٱلنَّاشِرَاتِ }
(3) – وَهَذِهِ الرِّيَاحُ تَنْشُرُ السَّحَابَ فِي آفَاقِ السَّمَاءِ، بِحَسَبِ مَشِيئَةِ اللهِ تَعَالَى.
(3) – وَهَذِهِ الرِّيَاحُ تَنْشُرُ السَّحَابَ فِي آفَاقِ السَّمَاءِ، بِحَسَبِ مَشِيئَةِ اللهِ تَعَالَى.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 3
3. These winds scatter the clouds in the sky according to the will of Allah.
{ فَٱلْفَارِقَاتِ فَرْقاً }
{ فَٱلْفَارِقَاتِ }
(4) – وَيُقْسِمُ تَعَالَى بِالمَلاَئِكَةِ التِي تَتَنَزَّلُ بِأَمْرِهِ تَعَالَى عَلَى الرُّسُلِ، لِتَفْرِقَ بَيْنَ الحَقِّ والبَاطِلِ، وَالهُدَى والضَّلاَلِ.
(4) – وَيُقْسِمُ تَعَالَى بِالمَلاَئِكَةِ التِي تَتَنَزَّلُ بِأَمْرِهِ تَعَالَى عَلَى الرُّسُلِ، لِتَفْرِقَ بَيْنَ الحَقِّ والبَاطِلِ، وَالهُدَى والضَّلاَلِ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 4
4. Allah Almighty swears by the angels that are sent upon the messengers by His command to separate between truth and falsehood, guidance and straying.
{ فَٱلْمُلْقِيَٰتِ ذِكْراً }
{ فَٱلْمُلْقِيَاتِ }
(5) – وَهَؤُلاَءِ المَلاَئِكَةُ يُلْقُونَ إِلَى الرُّسُلِ وَحْياً مِنَ اللهِ لِتَذْكِيرِ العِبَادِ بِمَا أَمَرَهُمْ بِهِ رَبُّهُمْ.
(5) – وَهَؤُلاَءِ المَلاَئِكَةُ يُلْقُونَ إِلَى الرُّسُلِ وَحْياً مِنَ اللهِ لِتَذْكِيرِ العِبَادِ بِمَا أَمَرَهُمْ بِهِ رَبُّهُمْ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 5
5. These angels bring down to the Messengers a revelation from Allah to remind the creatures of their Lord’s commands.
{ عُذْراً أَوْ نُذْراً }
(6) – وَهَذَا الوَحْيُ إِمَّا أَنْ يَكُونَ إِعْذَاراً إِلَى الخَلْقِ، وَإِمَّا أَنْ يَكُونَ إِنْذَاراً لَهُمْ بِعِقَابِ اللهِ، إِنْ هُمْ خَالَفُوا أَمْرَهُ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 6
6. This revelation is sent to them either excusing creatures or warning them of Allah’s punishment if they disobey His command.
{ إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَٰقِعٌ }
{ لَوَاقِعٌ } { إِنَّمَا }
(7) – أَقْسَمَ تَعَالَى بِجَمِيعِ مَا تَقَدَّمَ عَلَى أَنَّ مَا وَعَدَ بِهِ الخَلْقَ مِنْ قِيَامِ السَّاعَةِ، وَالبَعْثِ، وَالحَشْرِ، وَالحِسَابِ، وَالعِقَابِ.. كُلُّهُ كَائِنٌ لاَ مَحَالَةَ. (وَهَذَا جَوَابُ القَسَمِ).
(7) – أَقْسَمَ تَعَالَى بِجَمِيعِ مَا تَقَدَّمَ عَلَى أَنَّ مَا وَعَدَ بِهِ الخَلْقَ مِنْ قِيَامِ السَّاعَةِ، وَالبَعْثِ، وَالحَشْرِ، وَالحِسَابِ، وَالعِقَابِ.. كُلُّهُ كَائِنٌ لاَ مَحَالَةَ. (وَهَذَا جَوَابُ القَسَمِ).
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 7
7. Allah swore by all the preceding that the Hour, resurrection, gathering, judgement and punishment which He promised His creatures will ineluctably come to pass. (This is the answer to the oath.)
{ فَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ طُمِسَتْ }
(8) – فَإِذَا ذَهَبَ ضَوْءُ النُّجُومِ.
طُمِسَتْ – ذَهَبَ ضَوْؤُهَا.
طُمِسَتْ – ذَهَبَ ضَوْؤُهَا.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 8
8. When the light of the stars disappears;
{ وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ فُرِجَتْ }
(9) – وَإِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْشَقَّتْ وَتَدَلَّتْ أَطْرَافُهَا وَوَهَتْ أَرْجَاؤُهَا.
فُرِجَتْ – تَشَقَّقَتْ وَتَدَلَّتْ أَطْرَافُهَا.
فُرِجَتْ – تَشَقَّقَتْ وَتَدَلَّتْ أَطْرَافُهَا.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 9
9. and when the sky is divided and its edges hang down;
{ وَإِذَا ٱلْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْ }
(10) – وَإِذَا سُيِّرَتِ الجِبَالُ، وَفَرَّقَتْهَا الرِّيَاحُ فَلَمْ يَبْقَ لَهَا أَثَرٌ.
سُيِّرَتْ – قُلِعَتْ مِنْ أَمَاكِنِهَا بِسُرْعَةٍ.
سُيِّرَتْ – قُلِعَتْ مِنْ أَمَاكِنِهَا بِسُرْعَةٍ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 10
10. and when the mountains are uprooted, and the winds disperse them leaving no trace of them;
{ وَإِذَا ٱلرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتْ }
(11) – وَإِذَا جُمِعَ الرُّسُلُ لِمِيقَاتِ يَوْمٍ مَعْلُومٍ، هُوَ يَوْمُ القِيَامَةِ، لِلْفَصْلِ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ خُصُومِهِمْ، وَلِلشَّهَادَةِ عَلَى أَقَوْامَهِمْ، وَمَا أَجَابُوهُمْ بِهِ فِي الحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا.
أُقِّتَتْ – جُعِلَ لَهُمْ مِيقَاتٌ.
أُقِّتَتْ – جُعِلَ لَهُمْ مِيقَاتٌ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 11
11. when all the messengers are gathered on an appointed day, which is the Day of Judgement, to judge between them and their rivals, and to testify against their nations for their responses to them in life on earth;
{ لأَيِّ يَوْمٍ أُجِّلَتْ }
(12) – وَلأَِيِّ يَوْمٍ أُجِّلَتِ الأُمُورُ المُتَعَلِّقَةُ بِالفَصْلِ بَيْنَ الرُّسُلِ وَخُصُومِهِمْ؟..
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 12
12. to which day will matters concerning the judgement between the messengers and their opponents be deferred?
{ لِيَوْمِ ٱلْفَصْلِ }
(13) – إِنَّهَا أُجِّلَتْ لِيَوْمِ القِيَامَةِ، وَهُوَ يَوْمُ الفَصْلِ الذِي يَفْصِلُ فِيهِ اللهُ بَيْنَ الخَلاَئِقِ، وَهُوَ اليَوْمُ الذِي أُجِّلَ اجْتِمَاعُ الرُّسُلِ إِلَيْهِ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 13
13. They are deferred to the Day of Judgement, the day of decision, when Allah will judge among all His creatures. It is the day to which the meeting of the messengers has been deferred.
{ وَمَآ أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ }
{ أَدْرَاكَ }
(14) – وَأَيُّ شَيْءٍ يُدْرِيكَ مَا هُوَ يَوْمُ الفَصْلِ هَذَا، فِي شِدَّتِهِ، وَعِظَمِ أَهْوَالِهِ؟.
(14) – وَأَيُّ شَيْءٍ يُدْرِيكَ مَا هُوَ يَوْمُ الفَصْلِ هَذَا، فِي شِدَّتِهِ، وَعِظَمِ أَهْوَالِهِ؟.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 14
14. What do you know about that Day of Judgement and its adversity and terrible terrors?
{ وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ }
{ يَوْمَئِذٍ }
(15) – الوَيْلُ وَالهَلاَكُ وَالخِزْيُ فِي ذَلِكَ اليَوْمِ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ بِاللهِ وَبِكُتُبِهِ، وَرُسُلِهِ، وَبِكُلِّ مَا جَاءَ بِهِ الأَنْبِيَاءُ إِلَيْهِمْ، وَأَخْبَرُوهُمْ بِهِ.
(15) – الوَيْلُ وَالهَلاَكُ وَالخِزْيُ فِي ذَلِكَ اليَوْمِ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ بِاللهِ وَبِكُتُبِهِ، وَرُسُلِهِ، وَبِكُلِّ مَا جَاءَ بِهِ الأَنْبِيَاءُ إِلَيْهِمْ، وَأَخْبَرُوهُمْ بِهِ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 15
15. Woe, destruction and humiliation to those who reject Allah, His books, His messengers and all that the prophets brought to them and informed them of.
{ أَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ ٱلأَوَّلِينَ }
(16) – كَيْفَ تَكْفُرُونَ يَا أَيُّهَا المُشْرِكُونَ، وَكَيْفَ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِالرُّسُلِ، وَالآيَاتِ، وَبِيَوْمِ المَعَادِ؟ أَلَمْ تَعْلَمُوا أَنَّنَا أَهْلَكْنَا المُكَذِّبِينَ مِنَ الأُمَمِ السَّالِفَةِ؟ وَأَنَّ سُنَتَّنَا جَرَتْ بِذَلِكَ؟.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 16
16. How can you polytheists disbelieve and deny the messengers, the signs and the Appointed Day? Do you not know that We destroyed the unbelievers among previous nations? And Our law commands this.
{ ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ ٱلآخِرِينَ }
{ ٱلآخِرِينَ }
(17) – ثُمَّ نَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ بِأَمْثَالِهِمْ مِنَ الآخِرِينَ، وَنَسْلُكُ بِهِمْ سَبِيلَهُمْ، لأَِنَّهُمْ فَعَلُوا كَفِعْلِهِمْ.
(17) – ثُمَّ نَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ بِأَمْثَالِهِمْ مِنَ الآخِرِينَ، وَنَسْلُكُ بِهِمْ سَبِيلَهُمْ، لأَِنَّهُمْ فَعَلُوا كَفِعْلِهِمْ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 17
17. We will do the same to the later generations who followed in their steps and did their deeds.
{ كَذَلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ }
(18) – وَهَذِهِ هِيَ سُنَّتُنَا وَاحِدَةٌ فِي جَمِيعِ المُجْرِمِينَ، فَكَمَا أَهْلَكْنَا المُتَقَدِّمِينَ لِكُفْرِهِمْ وَتَكْذِيبِهِمْ، كَذَلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِالآخِرِينَ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 18
18. Our law is one with all sinners. Just as We destroyed the previous nations for their disbelief and denial, We will destroy the later generations.
{ وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ }
{ يَوْمَئِذٍ }
(19) – الوَيْلُ وَالهَلاَكُ والخِزْيُ فِي ذَلِكَ اليَوْمِ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ بِاللهِ وَبِكُتُبِهِ وَبِرُسُلِهِ.
(19) – الوَيْلُ وَالهَلاَكُ والخِزْيُ فِي ذَلِكَ اليَوْمِ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ بِاللهِ وَبِكُتُبِهِ وَبِرُسُلِهِ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 19
19. Woe, destruction and humiliation on that day to those who deny Allah, His Books, and His messengers.
{ أَلَمْ نَخْلُقكُّم مِّن مَّآءٍ مَّهِينٍ }
(20) – وَيَلْفِتُ اللهُ تَعَالَى أَنْظَارَ هَؤُلاَءِ المُكَذِّبِينَ إِلَى أَنَّهُ خَلَقَهُمْ مِنْ مَاءٍ ضَعِيفٍ حَقِيرٍ (مَهِينٍ)، هُوَ المَنِيُّ الذِي يَقْذِفُهُ
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 20
20. Allah Almighty draws the attention of the deniers to the fact that He created them from a lowly weak liquid, which is the sperm that a man ejaculates into the womb of a woman.
{ فَجَعَلْنَاهُ فِي قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ }
{ فَجَعَلْنَاهُ }
(21) – وَجَعَلَ اللهُ تَعَالَى هَذَا المَاءَ الضَّعِيفَ المَهِينَ فِي الرَّحِمِ فِي مَكَانٍ أَمِينٍ مِنْ جِسْمِ الأُنْثَى، لاَ يَتَأَثَّرُ بِالصَّدَمَاتِ، لِيَتِمَّ خَلْقُهُ.
(21) – وَجَعَلَ اللهُ تَعَالَى هَذَا المَاءَ الضَّعِيفَ المَهِينَ فِي الرَّحِمِ فِي مَكَانٍ أَمِينٍ مِنْ جِسْمِ الأُنْثَى، لاَ يَتَأَثَّرُ بِالصَّدَمَاتِ، لِيَتِمَّ خَلْقُهُ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 21
21. Allah Almighty placed this sperm in the womb, which is a safe place in the body of a woman, where it can be created without being affected by any shocks.
{ إِلَىٰ قَدَرٍ مَّعْلُومٍ }
(22) – وَيَبْقَى هَذَا المَاءُ مُودَعاً فِي الرَّحِمِ مُدَّةً مَعْلُومَةً حَتَّى يَتَكَامَلَ خَلْقُ الطِّفْلِ، وَيَخْرُجَ مِنْ بَطْنِ أُمِّهِ كَامِلَ الخَلْقِ، فَتَبَارَكَ اللهُ أَحْسَنُ الخَالِقِينَ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 22
22. This water remains in the womb for a set period of time until the creation of the child is complete and it is born a well-developed being. Grace be to Allah the best of creators.
{ فَقَدَرْنَا فَنِعْمَ ٱلْقَادِرُونَ }
{ ٱلْقَادِرُونَ }
(23) – وَقَدْ قَدَّرْنَا خَلْقَكُمْ فِي أَحْسَنِ صُورَةٍ فَنِعْمَ المُقَدِّرُونَ. أَفَلاَ يَسْتَحِقُّ مَنْ أَنْعَمَ عَلَيْكُمْ بِهَذَا الخَلْقِ الشُّكْرَ مِنْكُمْ عَلَى هَذِهِ النِعَمِ العَظِيمَةِ؟ وَكَيْفَ تُقَابِلُونَ نِعَمَ رَبِّكُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالكُفْرَانِ وَالجُحُودِ؟
فَقَدَرْنَا – فَقَدَّرْنَا ذَلِكَ تَقْدِيراً.
(23) – وَقَدْ قَدَّرْنَا خَلْقَكُمْ فِي أَحْسَنِ صُورَةٍ فَنِعْمَ المُقَدِّرُونَ. أَفَلاَ يَسْتَحِقُّ مَنْ أَنْعَمَ عَلَيْكُمْ بِهَذَا الخَلْقِ الشُّكْرَ مِنْكُمْ عَلَى هَذِهِ النِعَمِ العَظِيمَةِ؟ وَكَيْفَ تُقَابِلُونَ نِعَمَ رَبِّكُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالكُفْرَانِ وَالجُحُودِ؟
فَقَدَرْنَا – فَقَدَّرْنَا ذَلِكَ تَقْدِيراً.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 23
23. We intended that you be created in the best image, We are the best determiners. Does He who bestowed upon you this creation not deserve to be thanked for all His great favours? How then do you meet your Lord’s gifts with disbelief and repudiation?
{ وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ }
{ يَوْمَئِذٍ }
(24) – الوَيْلُ وَالهَلاَكُ والخِزْيُ فِي ذَلِكَ اليَوْمِ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ بِاللهِ، وَبِكُتُبِهِ وَرُُسُلِهِ وَنِعَمِهِ.
(24) – الوَيْلُ وَالهَلاَكُ والخِزْيُ فِي ذَلِكَ اليَوْمِ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ بِاللهِ، وَبِكُتُبِهِ وَرُُسُلِهِ وَنِعَمِهِ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 24
24. Woe, destruction and humiliation on that day to those who disbelieve in Allah, His Books, His messengers and His blessings.
{ أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلأَرْضَ كِفَاتاً }
(25) – أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الأَرْضَ مِهَاداً لَكُمْ فَتَكْفتُكُمْ وَتَجْمَعُكُمْ؟
كَفَتَ الشَّيْءَ – ضَمَّهُ وَجَمَعَهُ.
كِفَاتاً – وِعَاءً يكفِتُ وَيَضُمُّ وَيَجْمَعُ.
كَفَتَ الشَّيْءَ – ضَمَّهُ وَجَمَعَهُ.
كِفَاتاً – وِعَاءً يكفِتُ وَيَضُمُّ وَيَجْمَعُ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 25
25. Did We not make the earth a cradle which gathers you and draws you together?
{ أَحْيَآءً وَأَمْوٰتاً }
{ أَمْواتاً }
(26) – فَتَجْمَعُكُمْ أَحْيَاءً عَلَى ظَهْرِهَا، وَتَجْمَعُكُمْ أَمْوَاتاً فِي بَاطِنِهَا.
(26) – فَتَجْمَعُكُمْ أَحْيَاءً عَلَى ظَهْرِهَا، وَتَجْمَعُكُمْ أَمْوَاتاً فِي بَاطِنِهَا.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 26
26. It gathers you alive on its surface and dead inside it.
{ وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ شَامِخَاتٍ وَأَسْقَيْنَاكُم مَّآءً فُرَاتاً }
{ رَوَاسِيَ } { شَامِخَاتٍ } { أَسْقَيْنَاكُم }
(27) – وَجَعَلْنَا فِي الأَرْضِ جِبَالاً ثَوَابِتَ عَالِيَاتٍ، لِئَلاَّ تَمِيدَ بِكُمْ، وَأَسْقَيْنَاكُمْ مَاءً عَذْباً سَائِغاً.
فُرَاتاً – عَذْباً سَائِِغاً حُلْواً.
(27) – وَجَعَلْنَا فِي الأَرْضِ جِبَالاً ثَوَابِتَ عَالِيَاتٍ، لِئَلاَّ تَمِيدَ بِكُمْ، وَأَسْقَيْنَاكُمْ مَاءً عَذْباً سَائِغاً.
فُرَاتاً – عَذْباً سَائِِغاً حُلْواً.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 27
27. On the earth, We created mountains fixed and lofty, so that they would not tilt and agitate you, and We gave you sweet palatable water to drink.
{ وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ }
{ يَوْمَئِذٍ }
(28) – الوَيْلُ وَالهَلاَكُ وَالخِزْيُ فِي ذَلِكَ اليَوْمِ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ بِاللهِ، وَبِكُتُبِهِ وَرُسُلِهِ وَنِعَمِهِ.
(28) – الوَيْلُ وَالهَلاَكُ وَالخِزْيُ فِي ذَلِكَ اليَوْمِ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ بِاللهِ، وَبِكُتُبِهِ وَرُسُلِهِ وَنِعَمِهِ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 28
28. Woe, destruction and humiliation on that day to those who disbelieve in Allah, His Books, and His messengers.
{ ٱنطَلِقُوۤاْ إِلَىٰ مَا كُنتُمْ بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ }
(29) – وَيَقُولُ خَزَنَةُ جَهَنَّمَ لِهَؤُلاَءِ المُكَذِّبِينَ فِي يَوْمِ القِيَامَةِ: سِيرُوا إِلَى نَارِ جَهَنَّم التِي كُنْتُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِوُجُودِهَا، حِينَمَا كُنْتُمْ فِي الدَّارِ الدُّنْيَا.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 29
29. The keepers of Hell will tell those who denied Judgement Day: “March forth to Hellfire which you denied in your life on earth.
{ ٱنطَلِقُوۤاْ إِلَىٰ ظِلٍّ ذِي ثَلاَثِ شُعَبٍ }
{ ثَلاَثِ }
(30) – انْطَلِقُوا إِلَى ظِلِّ دُخَانِ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ المُتَشَعِّبِ إِلَى ثَلاَثِ شُعَبٍ: شُعْبَةٍ عَنْ يَمِينِهِمْ، وَشُعْبَةٍ عَنْ شِمَالِهِمْ، وَشُعْبَةٍ مِنْ فَوْقِ رُؤُوسِهِمْ.
(أَيْ إِنَّ الدُّخَانَ مُحِيطٌ بِهِمْ مِنْ كُلِّ جَانِبٍ، أَحَاطَ بِهِمْ سُرَادِقُها).
(30) – انْطَلِقُوا إِلَى ظِلِّ دُخَانِ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ المُتَشَعِّبِ إِلَى ثَلاَثِ شُعَبٍ: شُعْبَةٍ عَنْ يَمِينِهِمْ، وَشُعْبَةٍ عَنْ شِمَالِهِمْ، وَشُعْبَةٍ مِنْ فَوْقِ رُؤُوسِهِمْ.
(أَيْ إِنَّ الدُّخَانَ مُحِيطٌ بِهِمْ مِنْ كُلِّ جَانِبٍ، أَحَاطَ بِهِمْ سُرَادِقُها).
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 30
30. “March to the shadow of the smoke from the fire of Hell which branches into three divisions: one on their right, another on their left and one above their heads.” (That is, the smoke will surround them on all sides — a fire whose smoke and flames are like the walls and roof of a tent will hem them in.)
{ لاَّ ظَلِيلٍ وَلاَ يُغْنِي مِنَ ٱللَّهَبِ }
(31) – وَهَذَا الظِّلُّ لَيْسَ بِظَلِيلٍ، أَيْ إِنَّهُ لاَ يُعْطِي ظِلاًّ يَقِي مِنْ حَرِّ ذَلِكَ اليَوْمِ، وَلاَ يَدْفَعُ عَنْهُمْ حَرَّ لَهَبِ جَهَنَّمَ، الذِي هُمْ مُقِيمُونَ فِيهِ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 31
31. This shadow does not yield a shade, nor does it give protection against the heat of that day or push back the heat of the flames of Hell where they reside.
{ إِنَّهَا تَرْمِي بِشَرَرٍ كَٱلْقَصْرِ }
(32) – وَنَارُ جَهَنَّمَ، التِي تُحْدِثُ هَذَا الظِّلَّ مِنَ الدُّخَانِ، يَتَطَايَرُ مِنْهَا شَرَرٌ مُتَفَرِّقٌ فِي جِهَاتٍ كَثِيرَةٍ، كَأَنَّهُ القَصْرُ عِظَماً وَارْتِفَاعاً.
الشَّرَرُ – مَا يَتَطَايَرُ مِنَ النَّارِ مُتَفَرِّقاً.
كَالقَصْرِ – كُلَّ شَرَارَةٍ مِنْهُ كَالبِنَاءِ المُشَيَّدِ فِي العِظَمِ وَالارْتِفَاعِ.
الشَّرَرُ – مَا يَتَطَايَرُ مِنَ النَّارِ مُتَفَرِّقاً.
كَالقَصْرِ – كُلَّ شَرَارَةٍ مِنْهُ كَالبِنَاءِ المُشَيَّدِ فِي العِظَمِ وَالارْتِفَاعِ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 32
32. Out of this Fire which casts a shadow of smoke fly sparks in all directions, so splendid in their height and greatness that they outshine the most splendid of castles.
{ كَأَنَّهُ جِمَٰلَتٌ صُفْرٌ }
{ جِمَٰلَتٌ }
(33) – وَكَأَنَّهُ الجِمَالُ الصُّفْرُ لَوْناً وَكَثرَةً.
(وَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ إِنَّ مَعْنَى (جِمَالَةٌ صُفْرٌ) هُوَ حِبَالُ السُّفُنِ الغَلِيظَةِ).
(33) – وَكَأَنَّهُ الجِمَالُ الصُّفْرُ لَوْناً وَكَثرَةً.
(وَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ إِنَّ مَعْنَى (جِمَالَةٌ صُفْرٌ) هُوَ حِبَالُ السُّفُنِ الغَلِيظَةِ).
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 33
33. They are like the yellow camels in their colour and numerousness. (Ibn Abbas said that the meaning of “yellow camels” is as follows: they are the thick ropes of a ship.)
{ وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ }
{ يَوْمَئِذٍ }
(34) – الوَيْلُ وَالهَلاَكُ والخِزْيُ فِي ذَلِكَ اليَوْمِ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ بِاللهِ وَبِكُتُبِهِ وَرسُلِهِ وَنِعَمِهِ.
(34) – الوَيْلُ وَالهَلاَكُ والخِزْيُ فِي ذَلِكَ اليَوْمِ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ بِاللهِ وَبِكُتُبِهِ وَرسُلِهِ وَنِعَمِهِ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 34
34. Woe, destruction and humiliation on that day to those who disbelieve in Allah, His Books, and His messengers.
{ هَـٰذَا يَوْمُ لاَ يَنطِقُونَ }
(35) – وَفِي ذَلِكَ اليَوْمِ لاَ يَتَكَلَّمُ هَؤُلاَءِ المُجْرِمُونَ مِنَ الخِزْيِ وَالرُّعْبِ وَالدَّهَشِ الذِي يُصِيبُهُمْ، وَلاَ يَقُولُونَ قَوْلاً يَنْفَعُهُمْ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 35
35. On that day, the unbelievers are too frightened, humiliated and shocked to speak and say anything that might benefit them.
{ وَلاَ يُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَيَعْتَذِرُونَ }
(36) – وَلاَ يُؤْذَن لَهُمْ بِالاعْتِذَارِ، لِيَعْتَذِرُوا، لأَِنَّهُمْ لاَ عُذْرَ لَهُمْ فَقَدْ قَامَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الحُجَّةُ، وَوَقَعَ القَوْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ بِمَا ظَلَمُوا، فَهُمْ لاَ يَنْطِقُونَ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 36
36. They are not allowed to apologize. They have no excuses, for the argument is established against them and the testimony is fulfilled against them for their evil deeds; they will be unable to speak.
{ وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ }
{ يَوْمَئِذٍ }
(37) – الوَيْلُ وَالهَلاَكُ وَالخِزْيُ فِي ذَلِكَ اليَوْمِ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ بِاللهِ وَكُتُبِهِ وَرُسُلِهِ.
(37) – الوَيْلُ وَالهَلاَكُ وَالخِزْيُ فِي ذَلِكَ اليَوْمِ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ بِاللهِ وَكُتُبِهِ وَرُسُلِهِ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 37
37. Woe, destruction and humiliation on that day to those who disbelieve in Allah, His Books, and His messengers.
{ هَـٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ جَمَعْنَٰكُمْ وَٱلأَوَّلِينَ }
{ جَمَعْنَاكُمْ }
(38) – هَذَا يَوْمُ الفَصْلِ وَالقَضَاءِ بَيْنَ الخَلاَئِقِ، وَقَدْ جَمَعَ اللهُ فِيهِ الخَلاَئِقَ أَجْمَعِينَ بِقُدْرَتِهِ فِي صَعِيدٍ وَاحِدٍ، الأَوَّلِينَ والآخِرِينَ.
(38) – هَذَا يَوْمُ الفَصْلِ وَالقَضَاءِ بَيْنَ الخَلاَئِقِ، وَقَدْ جَمَعَ اللهُ فِيهِ الخَلاَئِقَ أَجْمَعِينَ بِقُدْرَتِهِ فِي صَعِيدٍ وَاحِدٍ، الأَوَّلِينَ والآخِرِينَ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 38
38. This is the Day of ruling and judgement among all creatures. On this Day, Allah in His might gathers together all creatures, both the previous generations and the later ones.
{ فَإِن كَانَ لَكمُ كَيْدٌ فَكِيدُونِ }
(39) – فَإِذَا كَانَتْ لَكُمْ، يَا أَيُّهَا المُكَذِّبُونَ، حِيلَةٌُ لِدَفْعِ العَذَابِ عَنْ أَنْفُسِكُمْ، وَلإِنْقَاذِهَا مِنْ قَبْضَةِ اللهِ تَعَالَى، فَجَرِّبُوهَا؛ إِنَّكُمْ لاَ تَقْدِرُونَ عَلَى شَيءٍ مِنْ ذَلِكَ فِي ذَلِكَ اليَوْمِ.
كَيْدٌ – حِيلَةٌ لاِتِّقَاءِ العَذَابِ.
كَيْدٌ – حِيلَةٌ لاِتِّقَاءِ العَذَابِ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 39
39. If you, O unbelievers, have any means of pushing away punishment from yourselves and saving yourselves from the clutches of Allah Almighty, then attempt now to do so. You will not be able to do anything on that day.
{ وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ }
(40) – الوَيْلُ وَالهَلاَكُ وَالخِزْيُ فِي ذَلِكَ اليَوْمِ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ بِاللهِ وَكُتُبِهِ، وَرُسُلِهِ وَنِعَمِهِ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 40
40. Woe, destruction and humiliation on that day to those who disbelieve in Allah, His Books, His messengers, and His blessings.
{ إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِي ظِلاَلٍ وَعُيُونٍ }
{ ظِلاَلٍ }
(41) – يُخْبِرُ اللهُ تَعَالَى عَنْ مُقَامِ المُتَّقِينَ الأَبْرَارِ فِي يَوْمِ القِيَامَةِ، فَيَذْكُرُ أَنَّهُمْ يَكُونُونَ فِي الجَنَّاتِ فِي ظِلاَلٍ كَرِيمَةٍ، وَعُيُونِ مَاءٍ جَارِيَةٍ، وَيَنْعَمُونَ بِمَا أَكْرَمَهُمْ بِهِ رَبُّهُمْ جَزَاءً لَهُمْ عَلَى أَعْمَالِهِم الصَّالِحَاتِ وَإِيْمَانِهِمْ بِرَبِّهِمْ، وَبِمَا أَنْزَلَ عَلَى رُسُلِهِ.
(41) – يُخْبِرُ اللهُ تَعَالَى عَنْ مُقَامِ المُتَّقِينَ الأَبْرَارِ فِي يَوْمِ القِيَامَةِ، فَيَذْكُرُ أَنَّهُمْ يَكُونُونَ فِي الجَنَّاتِ فِي ظِلاَلٍ كَرِيمَةٍ، وَعُيُونِ مَاءٍ جَارِيَةٍ، وَيَنْعَمُونَ بِمَا أَكْرَمَهُمْ بِهِ رَبُّهُمْ جَزَاءً لَهُمْ عَلَى أَعْمَالِهِم الصَّالِحَاتِ وَإِيْمَانِهِمْ بِرَبِّهِمْ، وَبِمَا أَنْزَلَ عَلَى رُسُلِهِ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 41
41. Allah Almighty informs of the state of the pious good-deed doers on Judgement day. He says they will be in Gardens in a noble shade where there are springs of running water. They will enjoy what their Lord has bestowed upon them as a reward for their righteous deeds and their belief in their Lord and in the message He revealed to His messengers.
{ وَفَوَاكِهَ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ }
{ فَوَاكِهَ }
(42) – وَيَتَخَيَّرُونَ مِنَ الفَوَاكِهِ الطَّيِّبَةِ مَا تَشْتَهِي أَنْفُسُهُمْ.
(42) – وَيَتَخَيَّرُونَ مِنَ الفَوَاكِهِ الطَّيِّبَةِ مَا تَشْتَهِي أَنْفُسُهُمْ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 42
42. They will choose all the good fruits that they desire.
{ كُلُواْ وَٱشْرَبُواْ هَنِيـۤئاً بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ }
(43) – وَيُقَالُ لَهُمْ: كُلُوا مِنَ هَذِهِ الفَوَاكِهِ، وَاشْرَبُوا مِنْ هَذِهِ العُيُونِ، وَتَفَيَّؤُوا هَذِهِ الظِّلاَلَ وَاهْنَؤُوا بِمَا أَنْتُمْ فِيهِ مِنَ النَّعِيمِ، فَذَلِكَ جَزَاءٌ لَكُمْ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ عَلَى إِيْمَانِكُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا، وَعَلَى أَعْمَالِكُمُ الصَّالِحَةِ التِي قَدَّمْتُمُوهَا فِيهَا.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 43
43. They will be told: “Eat of this fruit and drink from these springs. Seek shade in the shadows and enjoy the bliss you are in. For this is a reward to you from your Lord for your faith in your life on earth and for the righteous deeds you performed in it.”
{ إِنَّا كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ }
(44) – وَكَمَا جَزَى اللهُ تَعَالَى هَؤُلاَءِ المُتَّقِينَ بِالجَنَّاتِ والعُيُونِ وَالفَوَاكِهِ، فَإِنَّ اللهَ يَجْزِي بِمِثْلِ ذَلِكَ الجَزَاءِ، أَهْلَ الإِحْسَانِ لإِيْمَانِهِمْ بِرَبِّهِمْ، وَطَاعَتِهِمْ، وَإِحْسَانِهِمْ إِلَى خَلْقِ اللهِ تَعَالَى.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 44
44. Just as Allah Almighty recompensed those righteous people with gardens, springs and fruit, He will equally reward the charitable people for their faith in their Lord, their obedience and their kindness to Allah’s creatures.
{ وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ }
(45) – الوَيْلُ وَالهَلاَكُ وَالخِزْيُ فِي ذَلِكَ اليَوْمِ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ بِاللهِ وَبِكُتُبِهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَنِعَمِهِ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 45
45. Woe, destruction and humiliation on that day to those who disbelieve in Allah, His Books, His messengers and His blessings.
{ كُلُواْ وَتَمَتَّعُواْ قَلِيلاً إِنَّكُمْ مُّجْرِمُونَ }
(46) – وَيُهَدِّدُ اللهُ تَعَالَى المُكَذِّبِينَ فَيَقُولُ لَهُمْ، كُلُوا وَتَمَتَّعُوا فِي هَذِهِ الدُّنْيَا الفَانِيَةِ مُدَّةَ الآجَالِ البَاقِيَةِ لَكُم فِيهَا، وَهِيَ قَلِيلَة عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ، ثُمَّ تُسَاقُونَ إِلَى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ لأَِنَّكُمْ مُجْرِمُونَ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 46
46. Allah Almighty threatens those deniers: “Eat and enjoy yourselves in this temporary life for as long as you have to live, which is a short time in any case. You will then be driven to Hellfire because you are sinners.”
{ وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ }
(47) – الوَيْلُ وَالهَلاَكُ وَالخِزْيُ فِي ذَلِكَ اليَوْمِ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ بِاللهِ وَبِرُسُلِهِ وَكُتُبِهِ وَنِعَمِهِ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 47
47. Woe, destruction and humiliation on that day to those who disbelieve in Allah, His Books, His messengers, and His blessings.
{وَإذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱرْكَعُواْ لاَ يَرْكَعُونَ }
(48) – وَإِذَا قِيلَ لِهَؤُلاَءِ المُكَذِّبِينَ الكَافِرِينَ بِاللهِ: آمِنُوا بِاللهِ وَاعْبُدُوهُ، وَأَطِيعُوا أَمْرَهُ، وَاحْذَرُوا عَذَابَهُ فِي الآخِرَةِ، اسْتَكْبَرُوا، وَأَصَرُّوا عَلَى عِنَادِهِمْ، وَلَمْ يُؤَدُّوا الصَّلاَةَ.
” أَمَرَ رَسُولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ثَقِيفاً بِالصَّلاَةِ فَقَالُوا: لا نَحْبُو – أَيْ لاَ نَرْكَعُ – فَإِنَّهَا سُبَّةٌ عَلَيْنَا. فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم: لاَ خَيْرَ فِي دِينٍ لَيْسَ فِيهِ رُكُوعٌ وَلاَ سُجُودٌ ”
” أَمَرَ رَسُولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ثَقِيفاً بِالصَّلاَةِ فَقَالُوا: لا نَحْبُو – أَيْ لاَ نَرْكَعُ – فَإِنَّهَا سُبَّةٌ عَلَيْنَا. فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم: لاَ خَيْرَ فِي دِينٍ لَيْسَ فِيهِ رُكُوعٌ وَلاَ سُجُودٌ ”
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 48
48. If those denying unbelievers are told: “Believe in Allah and worship Him, obey His command and beware of His punishment in the Hereafter; they are arrogant, and persist in their stubbornness and do not perform their prayers. (The Messenger of Allah commanded the tribe Thakeef to perform their prayers. They said: “We will not kneel or prostrate ourselves for it is degrading to us.” So he told them: “There is no good in a religion in which there is no kneeling or prostration.”
{ وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ }
(49) – الوَيْلُ وَالهَلاَكُ وَالخِزْيُ فِي ذَلِكَ اليَوْمِ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ بِاللهِ وَبِكُتُبِهِ وَرُسُلِهِ وَنِعَمِهِ.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 49
49. Woe, destruction and humiliation on that day to those who disbelieve in Allah, His Books, His messengers and His blessings.
{ فَبِأَيِّ حَدِيثٍ بَعْدَهُ يُؤْمِنُونَ }
(50) – وَإِذَا لَمْ يُؤْمِنْ هَؤُلاَءِ بِهَذِهِ الحُجَجِ وَالآيَاتِ وَالدَّلاَئِلِ عَلَى جَلاَئِهَا وَوُضُوحِهَا، فَبِأَيِّ كَلاَمٍ بَعْدَ هَذَا يُصَدِّقُونَ؟.
Surah Al-Mursalat: Verse 50
50. If they do not believe in these arguments, proofs and signs even though they are obvious and clear, in which message, then, will they believe?
