ما هي عاقبة المرتد الذي مات على غير الإسلام؟

According to the Holy Quran: if a person leaves Islam and dies while adhering to another creed: their deeds are rendered void and invalid. Such a person has chosen a path that Allah the Almighty does not accept: resulting in being among the losers in the Hereafter.
وفقاً للتحذير القرآني: إذا ترك الشخص الإسلام ومات على عقيدة أخرى: فإن أعماله تصبح باطلة ومحبطة. لقد اختار هذا الإنسان طريقاً لا يقبله الله عز وجل: مما يجعله من الخاسرين في الآخرة.

Whoever abandons Islam and dies as a believer of another creed will have died having beliefs that Allah the Almighty never accepts. This choice leads to the total loss of one's worldly and spiritual efforts.

من ترك دين الإسلام و مات على غيره فقد مات على دين لا يقبله الله منه. وبناء عليه فشأن هذا الإنسان أنه قد خسر أعماله كلها في الدنيا والآخرة.

(Whoever seeks a way other than Islam, it will never be accepted from them, and in the Hereafter they will be among the losers.)
(وَمَن يَبْتَغِ غَيْرَ الْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا فَلَن يُقْبَلَ مِنْهُ وَهُوَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ) [Al-Imran 3:85 | آل عمران 3: 85]

(And whoever among you renounces their own faith and dies a disbeliever, their deeds will become void in this life and in the Hereafter. It is they who will be the residents of the Fire. They will be there forever.)
(وَمَن يَرْتَدِدْ مِنكُمْ عَن دِينِهِ فَيَمُتْ وَهُوَ كَافِرٌ فَأُولَـٰئِكَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَالُهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ ۖ وَأُولَـٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ) [Al-Baqara 2:217 | البقرة 2: 217]

Scholarly Insight: The Holy Quran makes it clear that Islam is the final and completed message for all of humanity. When an individual consciously turns away from this truth after having accepted it: they are essentially rejecting the divine guidance that validates all other deeds. Scholars highlight that the term "Habt" (voiding) signifies that even if a person performed many good deeds previously: those deeds are canceled out by the lack of faith at the moment of death.
