We cannot confirm who he was. The English translation for Dhul-Qurneyn is “the two-horned.” There are different opinions among people as to who Dhul-Qurneyn was. Some say that he was probably Alexander the Great while others think he could be Cyrus the Great, an ancient king of Persia. But needless to say, these are only speculations. Matters that have not been disclosed by the Almighty Allah in the Noble Quran should be left alone and not fabricated.
