What is the Prostration of Quran Recitation (Sujud at-Tilawah)?
ما هو سجود التلاوة وكيفيته؟
Sujud at-Tilawah is a voluntary prostration performed when reaching any of the 14 specific verses of prostration in the Holy Quran. It is a confirmed Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) symbolizing immediate submission to Allah's words.
سجود التلاوة هو سجود يؤديه القارئ أو المستمع عند المرور بآية فيها "سجدة" في القرآن الكريم، وهي 14 موضعاً. وهو سنة مؤكدة عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم تُشرع داخل الصلاة وخارجها.
Sujud at-Tilawah consists of a single prostration. While Wudu is preferred, it is permitted to perform it without it if one is in the middle of recitation. One says "Allahu Akbar" when going down into prostration.
The Supplication (Dua):
"Sajada wajhiya lilladhi khalaqahu wa sawwarahu, wa shaqqa sam'ahu wa basarahu bihawlihi wa quwwatihi, fatabarakallahu ahsanul-khaliqin."
Translation:
"My face prostrates to the One who created it and shaped it, and opened its hearing and sight by His might and power. Blessed is Allah, the Best of Creators."
يُؤدى سجود التلاوة بسجدة واحدة فقط عند تلاوة أو سماع آيات السجود الـ 14 المتفق عليها.
الدعاء المأثور فيه:
"سَجَدَ وَجْهِيَ لِلَّذِي خَلَقَهُ وَصَوَّرَهُ، وَشَقَّ سَمْعَهُ وَبَصَرَهُ بِحَوْلِهِ وَقُوَّتِهِ، فَتَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ أَحْسَنُ الْخَالِقِينَ."
الدعاء المأثور فيه:
"سَجَدَ وَجْهِيَ لِلَّذِي خَلَقَهُ وَصَوَّرَهُ، وَشَقَّ سَمْعَهُ وَبَصَرَهُ بِحَوْلِهِ وَقُوَّتِهِ، فَتَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ أَحْسَنُ الْخَالِقِينَ."
