Reflections on the Name of Allah: Zul-Jalaali-wal-Ikram
The One who holds all kinds of goodness, perfection, honor, and grandeur, the One who gives generosity and honor.
We often see the Lord of Majesty and Honor, The Lord of Bounty and Honor, Lord of Majesty and Generosity. As a name of Allah سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ it is mentioned twice in the Qur’an, both times in Surah al-Rahman.
(وَيَبْقَىٰ وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو ٱلْجَلَـٰلِ وَٱلْإِكْرَامِ)
(Only your Lord Himself, full of Majesty and Honour, will remain ˹forever˺) Ar-Rahman 55: 27
(Blessed is the Name of your Lord, full of Majesty and Honour.) Ar-Rahman 55: 78

(And whatever you have of favor — it is from Allah.) An-Nahl 16:53

Embracing Honor through Submission

(وَمَن يُهِنِ ٱللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُ مِن مُّكْرِمٍ)
(And whomever Allah humiliates — for him there is no honor.) Al-Hajj 22:18
This verse underscores the idea that true honor lies in obedience to Allah. By submitting ourselves to His will, we not only attain His favor but also elevate our status in the sight of others.
