The Oft-Pardoning, The Effacer of Sins, The Eliminator of Sins.
The One who pardons sins and leaves no trace of any fault. The difference between forgiving and effacing is there will be no trace or record of the offense being committed. It will be as if it had never happened.
The name “Al-Afuw” beautifully encapsulates the depth of Allah’s mercy and forgiveness. Indeed, as “The Effacer of Sins,” Allah not only forgives but completely eradicates all traces of sin from the record of His servants.

(ذَٰلِكَ وَمَنْ عَاقَبَ بِمِثْلِ مَا عُوقِبَ بِهِۦ ثُمَّ بُغِىَ عَلَيْهِ لَيَنصُرَنَّهُ ٱللَّهُ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَعَفُوٌّ غَفُورٌۭ)
(That is so. And whoever retaliates in equivalence to the injury they have received, and then are wronged ˹again˺, Allah will certainly help them. Surely Allah is Ever-Pardoning, All-Forgiving.) Al-Hajj 22: 60
