19 آية
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Surah Al-A’la is the 87th chapter of the Quran, containing 19 verses. Revealed in Makkah, it opens by commanding the glorification of the Name of the Lord, the Most High, who created and proportioned all things, guided them, and brings forth pasture before turning it to russet stubble. The surah reassures the Prophet that he will not forget the revelation except as Allah wills, urges him to remind others since the reminder benefits, and contrasts the felicitous one who purifies himself and remembers his Lord in prayer with the wretched one who prefers the life of this world, closing by noting that this message is found in the earlier scriptures of Abraham and Moses. Tafsir of the Verses
{ سَبِّحِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ ٱلأَعْلَىٰ }
(1) – نَزِّهِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الأَعْلَى العَظِيمِ عَنْ كُلِّ مَا لاَ يَلِيقُ بِجَلاَلِهِ، فِي ذَاتِهِ وَصِفَاتِهِ وَأَسْمَائِهِ، فَلاَ تَذْكُرْهُ إِلاَّ عَلَى وَجْهِ التَّعْظِيمِ لَهُ.
Surah Al-A’la: Verse 1
1. Purify the name of your Lord the Mighty and Most High from all that is not appropriate to His Majesty, whether it is related to Himself, His attributes, or His names. Mention Him only in terms of glorification.
{ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ }
(2) – فَهُوَ الذِي خَلَقَ الكَائِنَاتِ جَمِيعَهَا وَأَوْجَدَهَا مِنْ عَدَمٍ، وَجَعَلَهَا مُنَسَّقَةً مُحْكَمَةَ الخَلْقِ، وَسَوَّى بَيْنَهَا فِي الإِحْكَامِ وَالإِتْقَانِ.
Surah Al-A’la: Verse 2
2. It was He Who created all creatures from nothing with precision and harmony and made them equal in perfection;
{ وَٱلَّذِي قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ }
(3) – الذِي قَدَّرَ خَلْقَ كُلِّ شَيءٍ، وَأَعْطَاهُ مَا يَستْحِقُّهُ وَمَا يُمَكِّنُهُ مِنْ أَدَاءِ مَهَمَّتِهِ التِي خُلِقَ لَهَا، وَهَدَى كُلَّ مَخْلُوقٍ إِلَى اسْتِعْمَالِ مَا اخْتَصَّهُ اللهُ بِهِ لأَِدَاءِ وَظِيفَتِهِ، وَالقِيَامِ بِمَا يُصْلِحُ حَالَهُ.
(كَمَا قَالَ تَعَالَى{ قَالَ رَبُّنَا ٱلَّذِيۤ أَعْطَىٰ كُلَّ شَيءٍ خَلْقَهُ ثُمَّ هَدَىٰ } قَدَّرَ – جَعَلَ الشَّيْءَ عَلَى مَقَادِيرَ مَخْصُوصَةٍ.
فَهَدَى – فَوَجَّهَ كُلَّ وَاحِدٍ وَهَدَاهُ إِلَى مَا يَنْبَغِي لَهُ.
(كَمَا قَالَ تَعَالَى{ قَالَ رَبُّنَا ٱلَّذِيۤ أَعْطَىٰ كُلَّ شَيءٍ خَلْقَهُ ثُمَّ هَدَىٰ } قَدَّرَ – جَعَلَ الشَّيْءَ عَلَى مَقَادِيرَ مَخْصُوصَةٍ.
فَهَدَى – فَوَجَّهَ كُلَّ وَاحِدٍ وَهَدَاهُ إِلَى مَا يَنْبَغِي لَهُ.
Surah Al-A’la: Verse 3
3. and determined the creation of all things and gave them what they deserved and what is necessary for them to fulfill the duties for which He created them, and guided each of His creatures to use what He distinguished him with in order to complete his duties and undertake what is suitable for his situation. (Almighty Allah says in chapter 20- Ta-Ha, 50: “It is our Lord who gave to each thing its form, then gave it guidance.”)
{ وَٱلَّذِيۤ أَخْرَجَ ٱلْمَرْعَىٰ }
(4) – وَالذِي أَنْبَتَ النَّبَاتَ لِتَسْتَفِيدِ مِنْهُ المَخْلُوقَاتُ، فَمَا مِنْ نَبَاتٍ إِلاَّ وَيَصْلُحُ أَنْ يَكُونَ مَرْعىً لِنَوْعٍ مِنَ الحَيَوَانِ.
Surah Al-A’la: Verse 4
4. He brought forth plants so that all the creatures could benefit from them, for each plant is suitable as a pasture for some animal.
{ فَجَعَلَهُ غُثَآءً أَحْوَىٰ }
(5) – وَبَعْدَ أَنْ يَكُونَ النَّبَاتُ أَخْضَرَ يَجْعَلُهُ اللهُ تَعَالَى هَشِيماً يَابِساً، كَالغُثَاءِ الذِي يَحْمِلُهُ السَّيْلُ لونُهُ ضَارِبٌ إِلى السُّمرَةِ أَوِ السَّوادِ.
أَحْوَى – أَسْمَرَ أَوْ أَسْوَدَ بَعْدَ الخُضْرَةِ.
أَحْوَى – أَسْمَرَ أَوْ أَسْوَدَ بَعْدَ الخُضْرَةِ.
Surah Al-A’la: Verse 5
5. Then, when the plants are green, Allah Almighty makes them dry stalks, darkish or black in colour like the scum carried by the torrent.
{ سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلاَ تَنسَىٰ }
(6) – سَنُنَزِّلُ عَلَيْكَ قُرْآناً تَقْرَؤُهُ وَلاَ تَنْسَى مِنْهُ شَيْئاً.
(وَهَذَا وَعْدٌ مِنَ اللهِ تَعَالَى لِرَسُولِهِ بِأَنَّهُ لَنْ يَنْسَى مِنَ القُرْآنِ شَيْئاً).
(وَهَذَا وَعْدٌ مِنَ اللهِ تَعَالَى لِرَسُولِهِ بِأَنَّهُ لَنْ يَنْسَى مِنَ القُرْآنِ شَيْئاً).
Surah Al-A’la: Verse 6
6. We will reveal the Quran for you to read and you will forget no part of it (this is a promise from Allah Almighty to His messenger that he will forget no part of the Quran)
{ إِلاَّ مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ إِنَّهُ يَعْلَمُ ٱلْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ }
(7) – إِلاَّ إِذَا شَاءَ اللهُ أَنْ يُنْسِيَكَ مِنْهُ شَيْئاً فَهُوَ قَادِرٌ عَلَى ذَلِكَ، وَهُوَ تَعَالَى مَالِكٌ قَلْبَكَ وَعَقْلَكَ، وَعَالِمٌ بِسِرِّكَ وَجَهْرِكَ، فَلاَ يَفُوتُهُ شَيءٌ مِمَّا فِي نَفْسِكَ.
Surah Al-A’la: Verse 7
7. unless Allah Almighty wills to make you forget some part of it. He then is well able to do that. For Allah Almighty controls your heart and mind, and has knowledge of what you conceal and what you reveal. Nothing in your soul escapes Him.
{ وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ }
(8) – وَيُوَفِّقُكَ رَبُّّكَ إِلَى الطَّرِيقَةِ البَالِغَةِ اليُسْرِ، وَيَشْرَعُ لَكَ شَرْعاً سَمْحاً يسْهُلُ عَلَى النُّفُوسِ قَبُولُهُ، وَعَلَى العُقُولِ فَهْمُهُ.
نُيَسِّرُكَ – نُوَفِّقُكَ.
نُيَسِّرُكَ – نُوَفِّقُكَ.
Surah Al-A’la: Verse 8
8. Your Lord will help you follow the gentlest path. He makes laws that are easy for the souls to accept and the minds to understand.
{ فَذَكِّرْ إِن نَّفَعَتِ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ }
(9) – فَذَكِّرْ مَنْ تَعْتَقِدُ أَنَّ الذِّكْرَى تَنْفَعُهُ، وَادْعُ مَنْ تَعْتَقِدُ أَنَّهُ يُجِيبُكَ وَلاَ يَجْبَهُكَ وَلاَ يُؤْذِيكَ، فَمِنْ شَأْنِ الذِّكْرَى أَنْ تَنْفَعَ.
Surah Al-A’la: Verse 9
9. Thus, admonish he whom you think will benefit from your advise, and call to belief he whom you believe will respond to you and not turn away or harm you. For, the purpose of advise is to benefit.
{ سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰ }
(10) – وَإِنَّمَا يَنْتَفِعُ بِتَذْكِيرِكَ مَنْ يَخْشَى اللهَ وَيَخَافُ عِقَابَهُ لأَِنَّهُ هُوَ الذِي يَتَأَمَّلُ فِيمَا تَقُولُهُ لَهُ، وَتُذَكِّرُهُ بِهِ.
Surah Al-A’la: Verse 10
10. He who fears Allah and His punishment will heed and benefit from your exhortation, for it is he who contemplates what you tell him and advise him about.
{ وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا ٱلأَشْقَى }
(11) – وَيَبْتَعِدُ عَنْ هَذِهِ التَّذْكِرَةِ الرَّجُلُ الشَّقِيُّ المُعَانِدُ، المُصِرُّ عَلَى الجُحُودِ عِنَاداً وَاسْتِكْبَاراً.
Surah Al-A’la: Verse 11
11. However, the evil obstinate man who persists in his denial out of arrogance and obduracy will avoid your exhortation.
{ ٱلَّذِى يَصْلَى ٱلنَّارَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ }
(12) – وَهُوَ الذِي يَدْخُلُ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ، وَيَذُوقُ العَذَابَ فِيهَا.
يَصْلَى – يَدْخُلُ النَّارَ أَوْ يُقَاسِي حَرَّهَا.
يَصْلَى – يَدْخُلُ النَّارَ أَوْ يُقَاسِي حَرَّهَا.
Surah Al-A’la: Verse 12
12. It is he who will enter the fire of Hell and taste punishment in it.
{ ثُمَّ لاَ يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلاَ يَحْيَا }
{ يَحْيَا }
(13) – وَهَذَا الشَّقِيُّ الذِي يُعَاقِبُهُ اللهُ عَلَى كُفْرِهِ وَضَلاَلِهِ بِالعَذَابِ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ الكُبْرَى، يَبْقَى فِي العَذَابِ خَالِداً لاَ يَمُوتُ فَيَسْتَرِيحُ، وَلاَ يَحْيَا حَيَاةً طَيِّبَةً فَيَسْعَدُ فِيهَا.
(13) – وَهَذَا الشَّقِيُّ الذِي يُعَاقِبُهُ اللهُ عَلَى كُفْرِهِ وَضَلاَلِهِ بِالعَذَابِ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ الكُبْرَى، يَبْقَى فِي العَذَابِ خَالِداً لاَ يَمُوتُ فَيَسْتَرِيحُ، وَلاَ يَحْيَا حَيَاةً طَيِّبَةً فَيَسْعَدُ فِيهَا.
Surah Al-A’la: Verse 13
13. This evil man whom Allah will punish in the great fire of Hell for his disbelief and perversity, will remain punished forever. He will neither die, and thus gain, rest nor yet live a good life.
{ قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ }
(14) – وَقَدْ أَدْرَكَ الفَلاَحَ، وَظَفِرَ بِالبغْيَةِ مِنْ زَكَّى نَفْسَهُ وَطَهَّرَهَا مِنَ الشِّرْكِ وَالكُفْرِ وَالمَعَاصِي.
أَفْلَحَ – فَازَ.
تَزَكَّى – تَطَهَّرَ مِنَ الكُفْرِ وَالمَعَاصِي.
أَفْلَحَ – فَازَ.
تَزَكَّى – تَطَهَّرَ مِنَ الكُفْرِ وَالمَعَاصِي.
Surah Al-A’la: Verse 14
14. He who purifies himself from all polytheism, disbelief and sin will prosper and gain his desire.
{ وَذَكَرَ ٱسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّىٰ }
(15) – وَاسْتَذْكَرَ قَلْبُهُ دَائِماً صِفَاتِ رَبِّهِ مِنَ الجَلاَلِ وَالكَمَالِ فَخَضَعَ لِجَبَرُوتِهِ، وَخَشَعَ قَلْبُهُ لَهُ وَصَلَّى.
Surah Al-A’la: Verse 15
15. And in his heart, he remembers the attributes of his Lord, His Majesty and His Grandeur and submits to His power, fears Him and prays.
{ بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ ٱلْحَيَاةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا }
{ ٱلْحَيَاةَ }
(16) – إِنَّ النَّاسَ يُؤْثِرُونَ الحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا عَلَى الآخِرَةِ، وَالعَقْلُ يُرْشِدُهُمْ إِلَى أَنَّ الآخِرَةَ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا، لأَِنَّ الآخِرَةَ دَائِمَةٌ بَاقِيَةٌ، وَالدُّنْيَا زَائِلَةٌ فَانِيَةٌ، وَالعَاقِلُ لاَ يُؤْثِرُ الفَانِي عَلَى البَاقِي.
(16) – إِنَّ النَّاسَ يُؤْثِرُونَ الحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا عَلَى الآخِرَةِ، وَالعَقْلُ يُرْشِدُهُمْ إِلَى أَنَّ الآخِرَةَ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا، لأَِنَّ الآخِرَةَ دَائِمَةٌ بَاقِيَةٌ، وَالدُّنْيَا زَائِلَةٌ فَانِيَةٌ، وَالعَاقِلُ لاَ يُؤْثِرُ الفَانِي عَلَى البَاقِي.
Surah Al-A’la: Verse 16
16. People prefer life on earth to that of the Hereafter although their reason guides them to realize that the Hereafter is far better than life here below. For the afterlife is enduring while life on earth is transient. A wise man does not choose something transient over that which is eternal.
{ وَٱلآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰ }
{ ٱلآخِرَةُ }
(17) – وَالآخِرَةُ أَكْثَرُ دَوَاماً وَبَقَاءً مِنَ الدُّنْيَا.
(17) – وَالآخِرَةُ أَكْثَرُ دَوَاماً وَبَقَاءً مِنَ الدُّنْيَا.
Surah Al-A’la: Verse 17
17. The Hereafter is more enduring than life on earth,
{ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَفِي ٱلصُّحُفِ ٱلأُولَىٰ }
(18) – إِنَّ دِينَ اللهِ وَاحِدٌ، وَهَذَا الذِي أَنْزَلَهُ اللهُ عَلَى رَسُولِهِ مُحَمَّدٍ صلى الله عليه وسلم مِنْ أَوَامِرَ وَنَوَاهٍ وَوَعْدٍ وَوَعِيدٍ، وَشَرْعٍ.. هُوَ بِعَيْنِهِ مَا أَنْزَلَهُ عَلَى الأَنْبِيَاءِ السَّابِقِينَ، وَوَرَدَ فِي كُتُبِهِمْ.
Surah Al-A’la: Verse 18
18. Allah’s religion is one. The orders, prohibitions, promises, threats, and laws which Allah revealed to His messenger Mohammad (peace be upon him), are the same as those He made to previous prophets and which were mentioned in their Books.
{ صُحُفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ }
{ إِبْرَاهِيمَ }
(19) – وَمِنْ هَذِهِ الكُتُبِ السَّابِقَةِ التِي أَنْزَلَهَا اللهُ تَعَالَى عَلَى رُسُلِهِ التِي حَوَتْ دِينَ اللهِ صُحُفُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَى، عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلاَمُ. فَإِذَا كَانَ المُخَاطَبُونَ قَدْ آَمَنُوا بِإِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَى، فَعَلَيْهِمْ أَنْ يُؤْمِنُوا بِمُحَمَّدٍ، لأَِنَّهُ لَمْ يَأْتِ إِلاَّ بِمَا جَاءَ فِي صُحُفِهِمَا.
(19) – وَمِنْ هَذِهِ الكُتُبِ السَّابِقَةِ التِي أَنْزَلَهَا اللهُ تَعَالَى عَلَى رُسُلِهِ التِي حَوَتْ دِينَ اللهِ صُحُفُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَى، عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلاَمُ. فَإِذَا كَانَ المُخَاطَبُونَ قَدْ آَمَنُوا بِإِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَى، فَعَلَيْهِمْ أَنْ يُؤْمِنُوا بِمُحَمَّدٍ، لأَِنَّهُ لَمْ يَأْتِ إِلاَّ بِمَا جَاءَ فِي صُحُفِهِمَا.
Surah Al-A’la: Verse 19
19. Among these Books that Allah Almighty revealed to His messengers and which contained the religion of Allah are the Books of Abraham and Moses. So if those whom Allah is addressing believe in Abraham and Moses, they should also believe in Mohammad (peace be upon him), for he only brought to them what was already in their Books.
