Who is referred to in the Ayah: "So this day We shall deliver your (dead) body"?
This verse describes the aftermath of Pharoah's attempt to cross the Red Sea while pursuing Prophet Musa (PBUH). Although he attempted to repent when death was certain, it was not accepted. Allah caused his physical body to be cast onto the shore so that those who deified him could witness his lifeless state, proving his mortality and Allah's ultimate sovereignty.
Quranic Evidence |
(So this day We shall deliver your (dead) body out from the sea that you may be a sign to those who come after you! And verily, many among mankind are heedless of Our Signs.)
Scholarly Insight: The term "bi-badanika" (with your body) indicates that his body was recovered whole and recognizable. Scholars emphasize that this preservation was not an honor, but a humiliation and a permanent evidence of the truth of the message of Musa (PBUH) against Pharoah's falsehood.
