Doomsday, the Last Day, the Hour, Day of Resurrection, Day of emergence, Striking Disaster, the Day of ˹Final˺ Decision:, Judgment Day, Deafening Blast, Supreme Disaster, Day of regret, Overwhelming Event, Day of eternal life, The Day of Reckoning, The Inevitable Event, The Day ˹you were˺ warned of, The approaching ˹Hour˺, The Day of Gathering, The Inevitable Hour, The Day of Meeting, The Day all will be crying out, the Day of mutual loss and gain.
Doomsday: It is named for the great things that the verses have mentioned. And among those are that people rise to the Lord of the Worlds.
( Allah, there is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him. He will certainly gather ˹all of˺ you together on the Day of Judgment) An-Nisa’a 4: 87
The Last Day: It is named because there is no day after that day.
(Rather, the righteous are those who believe in Allah, the Last Day) Al-Baqara 2: 177
The Hour: a word that expresses an unlimited part of time, and the Judgment day is called the hour either because of its proximity, or it is named after it as a warning of the great things that take away the hearts. It was said: It was called the hour so that it would come suddenly in an hour.
(We have not created the heavens and the earth and everything in between except for a purpose. And the Hour is certain to come, so forgive graciously.) Al-Hijr 15: 85
The Day of Resurrection: It is named that because Almighty Allah will resurrect the dead. (But those gifted with knowledge and faith will say ˹to them˺, “You did actually stay—as destined by Allah—until the Day of Resurrection. So here is the Day of Resurrection ˹which you denied˺! But you did not know ˹it was true˺.”) Ar-Rum 30: 56
The Day of Emergence: People emerge from their graves when the trumpet is blown. (the Day all will hear the ˹mighty˺ Blast in ˹all˺ truth,1 that will be the Day of emergence ˹from the graves˺.) Qaf 50: 42
The Striking Disaster: It strikes the hearts with its disasters (˹Both˺ Thamûd and ’Ȃd denied the Striking Disaster.) Al-Hakka 69: 4
The Day of ˹Final˺ Decision: It was called this because Allah separates His subjects from what they were in dissent.
(˹They will be told by Allah,˺ “This is the Day of ˹Final˺ Decision: We have gathered you along with earlier disbelievers ˹for punishment˺.) Al-Mursalat 77: 38
Judgment Day: Judgement means to call to account, and reward . It is called this because Allah calls His subjects to account and reckoning.
(and the wicked will be in Hell, burning in it on Judgment Day, and they will have no escape from it. What will make you realize what Judgment Day is? Again, what will make you realize what Judgment Day is? ˹It is˺ the Day no soul will be of ˹any˺ benefit to another whatsoever, for all authority on that Day belongs to Allah ˹entirely˺.) Al-Infitar 82: 14- 19
Deafening Blast: It is called that because is extremely loud people in order for people to hear it, that it is almost deafening.(Then, when the Deafening Blast comes to pass—) Abasa 80: 33
Supreme Disaster: It is called that because it suppresses every major event. (But, when the Supreme Disaster comes to pass—) An-Naziaat 79: 34
Day of regret: It is called that because people on that day have so much regret. The Disbelievers regret their disbelief and the Believers regret that they did not perform more good deeds.
(And warn them ˹O Prophet˺ of the Day of Regret, when all matters will be settled, while they are ˹engrossed˺ in heedlessness and disbelief.) Maryam 19: 3956
Overwhelming Event: It is called that because it overwhelms people, and it could also mean that the Hell-Fire will overwhelm the Disbelievers from beneath them and above them.
(Has the news of the Overwhelming Event reached you ˹O Prophet˺? ) Al-Ghashiya 88: 1
Day of eternal life: It is called that people move from the temporary life on earth to the eternal abode. The disbelievers will go to Hell eternally and the Believers will be in Paradise
eternally. (Enter it in peace. This is the Day of eternal life!”) Qaf 50: 34
The Day of Reckoning: It is called the day of reckoning, because Allah holds His servants accountable, and He Almighty shall count on His creation for their acts of charity and abuse, and that His grace will be counted on them, and then he will meet each other, so what prevails over the other is the rule of Allah in him by His judgment, which He appointed for good, and for evil to evil. (Surely those who go astray from Allah’s Way will suffer a severe punishment for neglecting the Day of Reckoning.”) Sad 38: 26
The Inevitable Event, The Day ˹you were˺ warned of: It was named that because of the inevitability of it happening. (When the Inevitable Event takes place,) Al-Waqi’ah 56: 1
The Day ˹you were˺ warned of: It was called that because Allah has warned all man-kind of that day, warning of the Punishment to whoever disobeys. ( And the Trumpet will be blown. This is the Day ˹you were˺ warned of.) Qaf 50:20
The approaching ˹Hour˺: It was called that because it is near. (The approaching ˹Hour˺ has drawn near. None but Allah can disclose it.) An-Najm 53: 57:58
(Warn them ˹O Prophet˺ of the approaching Day when the hearts will jump into the throats, suppressing distress.) Ghafir 40: 18
Judgment day is near, and it will come soon even if it seems far. And now that the signs have appeared , it is even closer.
The Day of Gathering: It is called that because Allah Almighty gathers all the people on that day. (And so We have revealed to you a Quran in Arabic, so you may warn the Mother of Cities and everyone around it, and warn of the Day of Gathering—about which there is no doubt) Ash-Shura 42: 7
(That is a Day for which humanity will be gathered and a Day ˹that will be˺ witnessed ˹by all˺.) Hud 11: 103
The Inevitable Hour: It is called that because on that day, all the Warnings and Promises will take place. (The Inevitable Hour! What is the Inevitable Hour?) Al-Hakka 69: 1-2
The Day of Meeting: In which Adam and his last son meet. In it, all the human race meet, and the people of the earth and the sky, the Creator and the creation, the oppressor and the oppressed meet. Every one will receive the reward of the good and evil he has done.
(He sends down the revelation by His command to whoever He wills of His servants to warn ˹all˺ of the Day of Meeting—) Ghafir 40: 15
The Day all will be crying out: It is called so because of the many appeals that happen on that day, every human being whose name is called for account and punishment, and the people of paradise call the people of fire, and the people in Hell-fire call the people of paradise, and the companions of the elevations call these and these.
(O my people! I truly fear for you the Day all will be crying out ˹to each other˺—) Ghafir 40: 32
The Day of mutual loss and gain.: This name is because the people of Paradise gain on account of the people of fire; as they enter paradise, so they take what Allah has prepared for them, and inherit the share of the infidels from paradise. And the meaning of Taghabun: is loss: i.e. the loss of the disbelievers by Allah Almighty and the profit of the believers. People know the great difference between the two teams, and the criminals know that they are the losers.
(˹Consider˺ the Day He will gather you ˹all˺ for the Day of Gathering—that will be the Day of mutual loss and gain.) Al-Taghabun 64: 9

القيامة ،اليوم الآخر، الساعة، يوم البعث، يوم الخروج، القارعة، يوم الفصل، يوم الدين، الصاخة، الطامة، يوم الحسرة، الغاشية، يوم الخلود، يوم الحساب، الواقعة، يوم الوعيد، يوم الأزفة، يوم الجمع، الحاقة، يوم التلاق، يوم التناد، يوم التغابن
يوم القيامة: سميت بذلك لما يقوم فيها من الأمور العظام التي بينتها النصوص. ومن ذلك قيام الناس لرب العالمين
(اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۚ لَيَجْمَعَنَّكُمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ ۗ)
النساء 4: 87
اليوم الآخر وسمى ذلك اليوم اليوم الآخر، لأنه اليوم الذي لا يوم بعده
وَلَٰكِنَّ الْبِرَّ مَنْ آمَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ) البقرة 2: 177)
الساعة : وهي كلمة يعبر بها عن جزء من الزمان غير محدود، وسميت به القيامة إما لقربها، وإما أن تكون سميت بها تنبيهاً على ما فيها من الأمور العظيمة التي تخلع القلوب.
وقيل: إنما سميت الساعة لأ نها تأتي بغتة في ساعِة
(وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ ۗ وَإِنَّ السَّاعَةَ لَآتِيَةٌ ۖ فَاصْفَحِ الصَّفْحَ الْجَمِيلَ )
الحجر15: 85
يوم البعث: سمي بذلك لأن ﷲ تعالِى يحيي فيه الموتى.
(وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ وَالْإِيمَانَ لَقَدْ لَبِثْتُمْ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْبَعْثِ ۖ فَهَٰذَا يَوْمُ الْبَعْثِ وَلَٰكِنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿
الروم 30
يوم الخروج: سمي بذِلك لأن العباد يخرجون فيه من قبورهم عندما ينفخ في الصور
قال تعالى: (يَوْمَ يَسْمَعُونَ الصَّيْحَةَ بِالْحَقِّ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ الْخُرُوجِ )
ق 50: 42
القارعة: سميت بذلك لأ نها تقرع القلوب بأهوالها
(كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ وَعَادٌ بِالْقَارِعَةِ )
الحاقة 69 :4
يوم الفصل: سمي بذلك لأن ﷲ يفصل فيه بين عباده فيما كانوا فيه يختلفون، وفيما كانوا فيه يختصمون.
(هَٰذَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ ۖ جَمَعْنَاكُمْ وَالْأَوَّلِينَ)
المرسلات 77: 38
يوم الدين: الدين يراد به الجزاء والحساب، سمي بذلك لأنه ﷲ يجزي العباد ويحاسبهم في ذلك اليوم
قال تعالى: (وَإِنَّ الْفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٍ ﴿﴾ يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ الدِّينِ ﴿﴾ وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَائِبِينَ ﴿﴾ وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ ﴿﴾ ثُمَّ مَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ ﴿﴾ يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِّنَفْسٍ شَيْئًا ۖ وَالْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلَّهِ ﴿﴾)
الانفطار 82: 14-19
الصاخة: سميت بذلك لأنها تصُّخ الأسماع، أي: تبالغ في إسماعها حتى تكاد تصمها .
(فَإِذَا جَاءَتِ الصَّاخَّةُ )
عبس 80: 33
الطامة: سميت بذلك لأنها تطم على كل أمر هائل فظيع
(فَإِذَا جَاءَتِ الطَّامَّةُ الْكُبْرَىٰ )
النازعات 79: 34.
يوم الحسرة: سمي بذلك لشدة تحسر العباد في ذلك اليوم وتندمهم. أما الكفار فلعدم إيما نهم ويتحسر المؤمنون في ذلك اليوم بسبب عدم استزادهم من أعمال البر والتقوى
الغاشية(وَأَنذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ الْحَسْرَةِ إِذْ قُضِيَ الْأَمْرُ وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ وَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ)
مريم 19: 39
: سميت بذلك لأ نها تغشى الناس فزاعها وتغمهم، ومن معانيها أن الكفار تغشاهم النار ،وتحيط بهم من فوقهم ومن تحت أرجلهم
قال تعالى: (هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ) الغاشية 88 :1
يوم الخلود: سمي ذلك اليوم بيوم الخلود لأن الناس يصيرون إلى دار الخلد، فالكفار مخلدون في النار، والمؤمنون مخلدون في الجنان
قال تعالى: (ادْخُلُوهَا بِسَلَامٍ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ الْخُلُودِ ) ق 50: 34
يوم الحساب: سمي بذلك اليوم بيوم الحساب، لأن ﷲ يحاسب فيه عباده، بأن يعدِّد ﷲ على الخلق أعمالهم من إحسان وإساءة، ويعدِّد عليهم نعمه، ثم يقابل البعض لبعض، فما يغلب على الآخر حكم ﷲ فيه بحكمه الذي عينه للخير لخير، وللشرِّ لشرّ.
قال تعالى: (إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَضِلُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ بِمَا نَسُوا يَوْمَ الْحِسَابِ) ص 38: 26
الواقعة: سميت بذلك لتحقق وقوعها وحصولها ووجودها
قال تعالى: (إذا وَقـعتِ الواقعَةُ)56 : 1
يوم الوعيد: سمي بذلك لأنه اليوم الذي أوعد به عباده. وحقيقة الوعيد هو الخبر عن العقوبة عند المخالفة.
قال تعالى: (وَنفِخَ في الصورِ ذلكَ يـوْمُ الوَعيدِ) ق 50: 20
يوم الآزفة: سميت بذلك لاقترابها
(أَزِفَتِ الْآزِفَةُ ﴿٥٧﴾ لَيْسَ لَهَا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ كَاشِفَةٌ)
النجم 53: 57- 58
و قال: (وَأنذِرهُمْ يـوْمَ الْآزفةِ إذِ القُلوبُ لدِى الْحناجِرِ كَاظِمِينَ) غافر 40: 18
والساعة قريبة جداً. وكل آت فهو قريب وإن بـعُد مداه. والساعة بعد ظهور علاما تها أكثر قربا
يوم الجمع: سميت بذلك، لأن ﷲ يجمع فيه الناس جميعاً
قال تعالى: (وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ قُرْآنًا عَرَبِيًّا لِّتُنذِرَ أُمَّ الْقُرَىٰ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهَا وَتُنذِرَ يَوْمَ الْجَمْعِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ ۚ) الشورى 42 :7
كما قال تعالى: (ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمٌ مَّجْمُوعٌ لَّهُ النَّاسُ وَذَٰلِكَ يَوْمٌ مَّشْهُودٌ) هود 103:11
الحاقة: سميت بذلك لأن فيها يتحقق الوعد والوعيد
الْحَاقَّةُ ﴿١﴾ مَا الْحَاقَّةُ ﴿٢﴾
الحاقة 69: 1-2
يوم التلاق: يلتقي فيه آدم وآخر ولده. ويلتقي فيه العباد ويلتقي فيه أهل الأرض والسماء، والخالق والخلق، ويلتقي فيه الظالم والمظلوم. وكل عامل سيلقى ما عمله من خير وشر.
.قال تعالى: (رَفِيعُ الدَّرَجَاتِ ذُو الْعَرْشِ يُلْقِي الرُّوحَ مِنْ أَمْرِهِ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ لِيُنذِرَ يَوْمَ التَّلَاقِ
غافر40: 15
يوم التناد: سمي بذلك لكَثرة ما يحصل من نداء في ذلك اليوم، فكل إنسان يدعى اسمه للحساب والجزاء، وأصحاب الجنة ينادون أصحاب النار، وأصحاب النار ينادون أصحاب الجنة، وأهل الأعراف ينادون هؤلاء وهؤلاء
قال تعالى (وَيَا قَوْمِ إِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَوْمَ التَّنَادِ) غافر40: 32
يوم التغابن: سمي بذلك لأن أهل الجنة يغبنون أهل النار، إذ يدخل هؤلاء الجنة، فيأخذون ما أعد ﷲ لهم، ويرثون نصيب الكفار من الجنة.
ومعنى التغابن: من الغبن وهو الخسارة: أي تظهر خسارة الكافرين بالله عز وجل وربح المؤمنين، يعرف الناس ما بين الفريقين من الفرق العظيم، ويعرف المجرمون أ نهم على غير شيء، وأنهم هم الخاسرو ن
قال تعالى: (يـوْمَ يَجْمَعكُمْ ليـوْم الْجمْعِ ذلكَ يـوْمُ التَّغابنِ) التغابن 64 :9
