ما معنى قوله تعالى: (نَزَّلَهُ عَلَى قَلْبِكَ) في سورة البقرة؟

1. The Heart, Where Revelation Was Kept | القلب موضع الوحي

2. The Trustworthy Spirit Brought It Down | نزل به الروح الأمين
The same meaning is stated in Surah Ash-Shu’ara: the Trustworthy Spirit brought it down upon your heart, so that you may be one of the warners (26:193-194). Ibn Kathir explains that the Trustworthy Spirit is Jibril, as many of the early scholars said, and that there is no dispute about this. Jibril is among the angels named in the Quran.

3. Allah Undertook to Gather It in His Heart | تكفل الله بجمعه في صدره
Ibn Abbas explained that in the early days of revelation the Prophet bore it with difficulty and would move his lips with it, so Allah revealed: Do not move your tongue with it to hasten it; it is upon Us to gather it and to recite it (Al-Qiyamah 75:16-17). Ibn Abbas said: to gather it for you in your heart, so that you recite it (Sahih al-Bukhari 5).
لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِ * إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُ وَقُرْآنَهُ (سورة القيامة: 16-17)
قال ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يعالج من التنزيل شدة، وكان مما يحرك شفتيه، فأنزل الله تعالى: (لا تحرك به لسانك لتعجل به * إن علينا جمعه وقرآنه)، قال: جمعه له في صدرك وتقرأه (صحيح البخاري 5).

The verse describes the Quran as confirming the scriptures that came before it, and as guidance and good news for the believers. Revelation that settles in the heart shows in a person's inner states and deeds, and the Quran describes many of those states, gathered in the conditions of the heart mentioned in the Quran.

5. Why the Verse Speaks of Enmity to Gabriel | سبب ذكر عداوة جبريل
Ibn Kathir reports, from a narration of Imam Ahmad from Ibn Abbas, that some Jews put questions to the Prophet, and when he told them that Gabriel was the angel who came to him, they said: that is the enemy of the Jews among the angels. This verse was revealed in reply. Other questions the Jews put to him are answered in the three things the Jews asked the Prophet.
